Splinterlands Battle Of The Week: Enemy played into my cards

With the ruleset and element pick that I got I knew most of my team was going to be either magic or ranged damage based so was my enemies
On the sad side Back to Basics was active so ranged monsters were going to be weaker as Close Range would be block by Back to Basics
So in my case I went with earth element and Immortalis as I had great magic team there and also because my enemy was most likely also going to play magic based comp and Immortalis was going to counter that hard with his Void
Void - 50% less damage (rounded up) from magic attacks or 0 damage from magic attacks of 1 power
Shatter - Successful attacks destroy the target's armor

Nectar Queen was my main tank for this battle
Main reason I like Nectar Queen here a lot is his high damage and high hp for a reasonable mana cost
Flying - +25% chance to evade physical attacks. No effect if the attacker also has Flying. Immune to Earthquake

Mycelic Slipspawn was my first magic damage monster for this team
Even tho he costs a hopping 9 mana I still decided to play him as I really did not have any other high hp magic monsters
Taunt - Draws the attacks of enemy units. Does not affect Reach, Scattershot, Wingbreak, or enemy units in the first position
Forcefield - Attacks dealing 5 base damage or more instead deal 1 damage

Next up was possible one of my favorite magic monsters to play in this type of battle
Mainly picked Regal Peryton here because of his high speed and decently high hp when taken into account his mana cost
Flying - +25% chance to evade physical attacks. No effect if the attacker also has Flying. Immune to Earthquake

For last but not least was a single ranged monster for this team
I decided to play him because there was no way my enemy could somehow get to him so his hp did not really matter to me
But because his hp is so low for 8 mana you get a lot of ranged damage and high speed
Snare - 100% chance to hit and apply Snared to targets with Flying. Snared units lose all bonuses from Flying

Already after seeing the starting board I was quite scared as my enemy was able to play Yodin Zaku and most times when I see him I can not beat him just because how strong the summoner is
On the positive side my enemy did not play any ranged monster but instead he played magic monsters
So even tho his monsters still got the Blast ability my summoner Immortalis was going to hard counter almost his entire team
The battle was fully open at this point so lets start the battle and have a look

After first round the board was still looking quite the same as in the start
I had managed to take down one of my enemies monsters and he only got half of my hp on my tank
But anything could still happen so lets keep watching

After 2nd round the battle was starting to look really good for me as I was still sitting on 0 death on my side of the board while my enemy had already lost 2 of his monsters
Lets hope for the best and keep watching

the 3rd round came and went
We traded one to one in this round but that did not matter at all as the battle was already decided
Now I just needed to wait for the start of the next and hopefully final round and then claim my victory

This battle was definitely heavily one sided in the end but still fun to watch as I do not see Yodin Zaku a lot in my battles and when I do I usually lose
I kinda got lucky with that win as if my enemy would have played ranged monster I would have definitely lost the battle but hey win is a win
