The Ruleset

- Rulesets - Super Sneak & Target Practice
- Mana Cap - 42
- Active Elements -
Here's my starting lineup
Summoner: Barthalamas

- As this was my second battler ever in Frontier I did not know what was good and what was not that good
- So I decided to just pick one element and tried to make the best out of it
- I settled for Fire element as it seemed to have a ton of melee monsters which could come handy in Super Sneak ruleset battle
- Also the fire element seemed one of the strongest to me as he gives +1 speed and because almost everyone is playing with level 1 cards there speed is quite low and therefor I get first of all the speed/attack priority but also the speed diff which hopefully comes with some missed attacks on the side of my enemy
1st Position: Frankarsgard

- Frankarsgard was one of my main tanks for this battle
- Main reason I like Frankarsgard here a lot is his high tank stats being 7 hp and 1 armor
- Also paired with my summoners +1 speed he is going to have 3 speed which is really good when looking at the speed of other monsters from different elements
2nd Position: New Beluroc Aegis

- New Beluroc Aegis was my second tank for this battle
- First of all I picked two tanks as most of the monsters in the foundation set have really low attacks and therefor the battles were going to be quite long I felt like
- Second thing was that I was not punished for playing a melee monster in the second position were he normally would not be able to attack as Super Sneak was active in this battle
- And for last but not least was his amazing Taunt ability which was going to tank my backline also as all of my enemies Sneak Snipe and Opportunity attacks had to hit him first
- Taunt - Draws the attacks of enemy units. Does not affect Reach, Scattershot, Wingbreak, or enemy units in the first position
3rd Position: Echelon

- From this point my attacks start
- Echelon was one of the last monsters I picked and the reason was simple I did not have anymore mana to spend on stronger monster
- But for 4 mana Echelon stats were decent enough to play him into my team
- And the reason why Echelon was my first attacker for this team based on positioning was that he only had 1 melee damage not like the next two
- Opportunity - Targets the enemy unit with the least health
4th Position: Chaos Furybringer

- Chaos Furybringer was a scary pick on my behalf as for 6 mana you only get 2hp which is really bad even for a foundation set monster
- But I still decided to play him as I just did not have really anything better to play
- Also I placed him in the middle of my team making him the hardest to reach from either side
- Even tho his ability was totally useless in this battle I did not mind as Super Sneak ruleset was still active in this battle giving every monster the Sneak ability allowing him to attack from any position
- Reach - Can use melee attacks from the second position
5th Position: Vengeful Monk

- Now came possible one of my favorite monsters as of level 1
- Even tho he costs a hopping 7 mana and he does not seem like the strongest monster the reason why I like him is that he is a Neutral monster making him playable in almost any battle
- Also his stats are not the worst when taken into account that foundation cards are a little worse than other set cards the main thing is his 2 melee damage which was going to make a huge differents in my teams total damage output
- Opportunity - Targets the enemy unit with the least health
6th Position: Spellmonger

- And for last but not least was my secondary backline tank
- The main idea behind him was that if my Taunt monster should fall he was going to be the one getting attacked next
- And even tho his stats are a total dogwater I still played him because of him Thorns ability
- Untrainable - Cannot be Weapons Trained
- Thorns - Returns 2 physical damage to attacker when hit by a melee attack
Starting board

- After seeing the starting board I had 0 idea who was going to win as this was my second ever battle in the frontier battle mode
- Just looking at the board I felt like I had a little edge on my enemy as he played his ranged monster in the first position making him just a 1 armor 5 hp tank
- But my predictions could still be off by a mile so lets start the battle and have a look
Here's how the battle went
1st & 2nd Round

- After the first two rounds I stated to get a little nervous as I had lost 2 of my monsters while my enemy had only lost one
- The good thing about this situation was that I had the upper hand on attack in the next round that meant I was going to take down his only two melee damage monster from this backline making him a lot weaker
- But anything could still happen so lets keep watching
3rd Round

- After the 3rd Round the battle was going back to my favor little by little
- I had managed to take down his big damage dealer and saved all of my monsters
- Now the next round I was going to take down another enemy monster from his backline which was great at first site but then I looked at the health points of my monsters and got a little scared again as they were really really low mainly because of his -1 hp summoner
- Lets hope for the best and keep watching
4th & 5th Round

- Next two rounds were really huge for me
- I managed to take down the last two enemy backline monsters while all of my monster stayed at 1hp
- That left my enemy with a single ranged monster who was not able to attack from his first position and also who was at 1hp
- Now I just needed to wait for the start of the next and final round and then face my victory
6th Round

- It took me 1 attack to kill my enemies last standing monster
- After his Black Widow had fallen I took the victory

Summary
- This battle was definitely closer than I would have liked or hoped for but still fun to watch
- I feel like I won the battle just based on him miss positioning him ranged monster
- If he would have played him ranged monster in the back the outcome of the battle could have been a lot worse for me and much better for him
- That shows how important right positioning is in Splinterlands
