As usual, this post is about splinterlands weekly battle challenge post with RIVER NYMPH.
In this post, I will share my battle and explain my monster position and every round. I will also share my monster abilities and why I used them in this battle. I hope everyone will enjoy this battle and my explanations.
Splinterlands challenges all players to play with a specific monster each week. This challenge helps them to earn a vote from splinterlands or steemmonsters. To get a vote from splinterlands, a player has to follow the rules given by splinterlands. Every week splinterlands post about the rules. Most of the rules remain the same, just the monster changes.

This week's battle challenge post from splinterlands
Before starting, let's learn about RIVER NYMPH.
River Nymph is a Rare Water Monster of the Chaos Legion. It is a Magic attacking monster. It has three abilities at the highest level. It costs four mana. It has four health points, two magic attacks, and three speeds. It only has to cleanse power from the first to the third level. Amplify ability is added to Cleanse ability at level 4, and the Swiftness ability is added at level 8.
The current price of Regular bcx is 0.12$, and Gold bcx is 2.04$. The traditional bcx burn value is 20 DEC, and the Gold bcx burn is 500 DEC.
I rented this monster to participate in the weekly battle challenge.
Battle Rules

SUMMONER
ALRIC STORMBRINGER
This is a beta edition Rare water monster. I think one of the most popular water monsters. I used water summoner because I had the best lineup in my collections. I had other summoners and monsters, but I saw that a water summoner would be best for this opponent, so I used this summoner instead of others.
MONSTERS
1.Spineback Turtle
Spineback Turtle is a common water monster of the alpha-beta edition. It is a low mana-costing monster. It costs only five mana and has no ability at levels 1 to 3, but from level 4 to the max level, it has Thorns' ability, which is so helpful for the four mana cost. It also has a defence shield.
Why did I place it in the first position?
- Answer: I used level 4 Spineback Turtle in my battle. At level four, it has 7 Health, three Defence shields and one melee attack with one speed. For only four mana, I must say it is a better card for the first position. I placed it in the first position because it has seven mana and three shields, which help other monsters survive long. Most of my monster was magic attacking, so placing this in the first position would be great.
2. Djinn Oshannus
Djinn Oshannus is a Legendary water monster. It has the magic attacking ability. It has Void, Phase and Forcefield abilities at its highest level. Its speed is its strength.
Why did I place it in the second position?
- Answer: I included Djinn Oshannus in the team because of its speed. And its magic attack is also very effective. I used level 2 Djinn Oshannus. It had 11 hit points, two magic attacks and five speeds. I put it in 2nd position as it has more speed. Due to its high speed, the opposing monsters failed to hit it.
3. Sea Genie
Sea Genie is a Common Water monster of the Reward edition. It is a magic-attacking monster. It costs six mana and has the flying ability at level 1 max. At the highest level, it has also strengthened from level six to max.
Why did I place it in the third position?
- Answer: Sea Genie is also a magic-attacking monster in my lineup. I selected this monster for its magic attacking ability. It cost me six mana and had two magic attacks, and it got another magic attack because of the summoner.
4. River Hellondale
River Hellondale is a Chaos Legion Legendary water monster. It is also a Magic attacking monster. Its highest level has Resurrect, Inspire and Dispel abilities. It has two magic attacks from level 1 to level 3 and 3 at the highest level. But its weakness is its low hit point.
Why did I place it in the fourth position?
- Answer: magic attacking and Resurrect ability are the main reasons to include it in the team. But since I used level 2 River Hellondale, it had Resurrect and Inspire abilities, which increased the melee attack of my melee-attacking monster by one.
5. River Nymph
River Nymph is today's main monster. River Nymph is a Rare Water Monster of the Chaos Legion. It is a Magic attacking monster. It has three abilities at the highest level, costing four mana, four health points, two magic attacks, and three speeds. It only has cleanse ability from the first to the third level. Amplify ability is added to Cleanse ability at level 4, and the Swiftness ability is added at level 8.
Why did I place it in the fifth position?
- Answer: I included this monster in my party since it is a must-use. But an extraordinary monster. I was occasionally using this monster in low mana battles. This Cleanse ability helps the first-position monster to use its full power. I placed it at 5th position due to its low hit points.
6. Ruler Of The Seas
Ruler of the sea is a legendary water monster of the Reward edition. It is one of the most favourite legendary water monsters to all splinterlands old players. It has blast ability from level one, and at the highest level, it has swiftness and silenced ability along with the blast ability.
Why did I place it in the sixth position?
- Answer: Ruler of the sea is one of my favourite water monsters. I selected this because it has blast ability. I used the level one Ruler of the sea in this battle which cost me six mana, and it has five life with two magic attacks and three speeds. I wanted to get the advantage over this monster for a long time, so I placed it in the last position.
Battle Rounds
Summoners have done their work at the start of the round. My summoner increased the magic attack of my party's magic-attacking monsters by one, and the opponent's summoner increased the speed of my party's monsters by one.
After that, the monsters of the two groups used all the powers they had to use at the beginning. These are-
- River Hellondale increased the melee attack of my team's melee-attacking monsters with his Inspire ability.
- The opposing team's GobGoblin Shaman reduced the speed of all my team's monsters by another speed with its Weaken ability
The remaining one special ability was not effective in this battle.
The opponent's Void Dragon attacks first. It reduced one health point of the Spineback turtle with its magic attack, and then Mirage destroyed all the spineback turtle's shields with its three ranged attacks.
After that, my team's Djinn Oshannus hit the opponent's Gelatinous Cube with his magic attack and reduced three health points. After that, the Ruler of the seas hit the opponent's Gelatinous Cube and reduced another three health points. On River Nymph's turn, she first increased Spineback Turtle by one health point and hit Gelatinous Cube to reduce two health points.
The opposing Goblin Shaman hit my team's Spineback Turtle and reduced one health point.
River Hellondale, at this point, reduced Gelatinous Cube's remaining health points with his magic attack, killing him.
After that, Sea Genie and Spineback Turtle reduced the opposing Gloridax Soldier by three health points and a shield.
At the beginning of this round, the opposing team's Void Dragon and Ash Mirage hit my team's Spineback Turtle's cock, reducing a total of 4 health points.
Djinn Oshannus killed the opposing team's Gloridax Soldier and Ruler of the seas, reduced Djinn Chwala's three health points and Void Dragon's one health point with his attack and blast abilities. Her River Nymph reduced the opponent's Djinn Chwala by two more health points.
At this point, the opponent's Goblin Shaman kills my team's Spineback turtle, but River Hellondale's Resurrect ability brings the Spineback Turtleback with one health point.
River Hellondale and Sea Genie then kill the opposing Djinn Chwala.
Opponent's Void Dragon killed my team's Spineback Turtle, and Ash Mirage hit my team's Djinn Oshannus to reduce three health points.
After that, Djinn Oshannus, Ruler Of The Seas, River Nymph successively hit the opponent's Void Dragon and reduced health points, and Goblin Shaman lost two health points due to the blast ability of Ruler of the seas.
The opposing Goblin Shaman fails to hit Djinn Oshannus at this stage.
At this stage, River Hellondale killed the opponent's Void Dragon, and Sea Genie killed the opponent's Goblin Shaman.
- In this round, the opponent's remaining monsters do not get a chance to attack. One by one, the monsters in my party hit and killed one of the remaining monsters.

Result
I won the match without any problem. It was an easy match for me.

1: Did your strategy work?
- Yes, I won the match easily because of a high-level monster, and the opponent couldn't live log in front of my team.
2: What will you try differently next time?
- Yes, I tried some with other monsters. I also tried this river nymph in other battle rules, even though I played with a higher-level river nymph. I am sharing one of the highest-level battle videos in this post. It is the second battle video with River Nymph.
