Something a little different today. I am pretty hooked on Splinterlands lately, which surprised me a bit since I thought I would get pretty bored after jumping back on during the recent hype. I like that I can enjoy it pretty casually without spending a crazy amount of time on it (probably been spending like an hour a day say). The amount of flexibility that the game and its surrounding ecosystem (e.g. peak monsters) is really something. At this point I've tried it all, renting monsters to go farther in the ladder, renting out monsters that I use less often, participating in a guild. Ah I haven't tried tournaments yet, but I figure it's not all that different (am I missing out?). I also am slowly buying Chaos Legion packs and collecting the new cards, which is also contributing to keeping things fresh.
After stumbling upon this excellent post I made a thumbnail following the guidance, and am pretty happy with how easy Canva is to use.
Anyway, I think one of the reasons Splinterlands stuck with me is how interesting battles can get once in a while. The thumbnail, if you can see it clearly has the setup with both sides having many healing capabilities, and various ways to chip away the other side. Pretty well balanced, and it was a very close battle. A few crucial misses, which is of course frustrating when it does not go your way.
The team I composed has a very good synergy, and in this case it was crucial to barely coming out ahead. Clay golem nullified the magic damage, healers and armor restore and armor add abilities to keep up the annoying heal and armor wall. The resurrect also kicked in at just the right time to outlast the opponent. But the main star of the show was the Prismologist with the blast to take out the all the support pieces.

Blast away!
So that was fun. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting either because I was preparing for magic heavy teams, which seem to be very common at this level (silver/gold). Magic is everywhere. Void and reflect and magic reduction are good company. That's why the clay golem is there instead of Mr Shieldbearer. Though probably the Shieldbearer would work better in this matchup? Not quite sure actually...
