Greetings to all my fellow players around the world and to Splinterlands. New challenge for this week has been released. This time its to give some tips, tutorial, or strategy for our new players in Splinterlands.
An idea came to my mind right away to share the experience i've had when I start playing wayback 2021.

CARD PLACEMENT
Card placement or simply positioning of cards is the one that I struggle when I started playing Splinterlands. It took me days to learn, I am loosing and I don't know why. Now I want to teach our new guys the basics of the game.
First is we need to learn the role or functions of our cards.
Archon, we call it before as summoner, because at the start of the battle we need to choose the element which we will use and select the summoner to summon the cards or monster for our team. Archon/Summoner usually provides extra ability for our team as you can see in the photo. For the sake of the tutorial lets assume we pick the Fire Archon/Summoner. Fithe Bladestone will provide all our cards with plus 2 armor, bloodline dominion of void. But lets not go further on that, we will focus first on the role of our cards and how to form a team.

This is the Melee type card or monster. Lets call it a Tank, because it usually has high HP to absorb the damage of enemy. This card attack only when it is in first position unless there is special ability or the combat rule allows it, but lets not go to that for now to avoid our new player with overwhelming information. The basic rule for our tank is to just place it in first position for now. The distiguish mark of a tank is the round shape saw that you can see encircle in the photo. This type of attack will hit the armor first, once armor is destroy thats the only time we can hit the enemy cards HP.

Next Card is the Magic type card or monster. Lets put it simply as throwing magic damage, this card can attack from any position. That is the diffirence between the magic and melee/tank, it can be place in any position. But normally magic cards are positioned after the melee/tank, we are protecting it because it provides damage for our team. We can distiguish this card by its attack encircle in the photo. The magic attack damage directly the HP of enemy even if it has armor. This is the most versatile type of card as it can be place in any position and will still provide damage

Third, we have the Range type card or monster. Lets simply call it Archer, this card will attack only if there is still card in front of him. Meaning it will not throw damage if it is in the first slot unless it has special ability or the combat rule allow. This card can be recognise by its type of attack encircle in the photo. The attack of our range monster will hit the armor first(same as in melee/tank), unless it has some special ability.
Now this card or monster is different from the other 3. Because it provides us with zero damage or has no attack at all. But still, it is very much usable in the game. It can provide us with additional protection for our damage card, its like using it as tank to be sacrifice. But later on as we progress on our teach and triump post I will share how this zero damage card can have an attack by using other cards ability. But again, not to overwhelm with too much information i'd rather stick to basics for the meantime.
Now that we have idea of the cards and their attack, we can now easily form our team. Placing the cards or monster we pick in the right slot or position will determine the battle result. Just keep on practicing, if you fail you lost nothing, but if you win you will be rewaded. Just have fun with the game, Splinterlands is the best strategy game that i've played.
Theres a lot to discuss, so in the next post I will be tackling about the cards ability and combat ruleset.
Thats about it folks. I will see you in next challenge.
