Hello Splinterlands community,
In this blog I want to explain, why every Splinterlands player should join a guild, because if you don't, you'll miss some cool advantages. In my opinion there are two big main reasons for joining a guild. I will talk about these two reasons in the following. By the way, you don't have to be in a very good guild or filled with just active players, it's enough just joining any guild.
Have fun while reading it!
Reason #1:
Maybe not anyone knows this, but a guild has different "buildings". The buildings give the members and the whole guild different advantages, depending on which level they are. You can find the buildings, when clicking on guilds and then buildings. Currently five different types of buildings are existing: Hall, Lodge, Arena, Barracks, Store.
We will have a closer look at the lodge. This building gives the members of the guild an additional bonus to the amount of DEC gained for each ranked battle win.
As you can see on this screenshot, the lodge can be leveled up to level ten. The higher the level is, the higher is the DEC bonus.
When completing your daily quests, you can level up the lodge. It requires only 15 quest to build the lodge up to the first level, and then the members will receive the permanent 1% DEC bonus to the rewards when winning a ranked battle.
Let's have a look on the following tables, how this bonus changes your DEC rewards.
DEC/Day | +1% Bonus | +5% Bonus | +12% Bonus | +20% Bonus |
---|---|---|---|---|
5 | 5.05 | 5.25 | 5.6 | 6 |
15 | 15.15 | 15.75 | 16.8 | 18 |
50 | 50.5 | 52.5 | 56 | 60 |
On the first look it doesn't seem that much. But let's calculate over a longer time period than one day. I will do the example with earning 5 DEC/day.
Days | DEC without Bonus | +1% Bonus | +5% Bonus | +12% Bonus | +20% Bonus |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
14 | 70 | 70.7 | 73.5 | 78.4 | 84 |
100 | 500 | 505 | 525 | 560 | 600 |
300 | 1500 | 1515 | 1575 | 1680 | 1800 |
Okay, now you can see a little difference, but I think it's not that huge impact you expected. Maybe we should earn some more DEC/day. Let's do the same with 15 DEC/day.
Days | DEC without Bonus | +1% Bonus | +5% Bonus | +12% Bonus | +20% Bonus |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
14 | 210 | 212.1 | 220.5 | 235.2 | 252 |
100 | 1500 | 1515 | 1575 | 1680 | 1800 |
300 | 4500 | 4545 | 4725 | 5040 | 5400 |
Now the difference is much bigger. It's no suprise, when you earn more DEC/day or calculate for a much longer time period, the earnings would increase more and more.
Personally I would recomend everyone to join a guild, so you don't miss this DEC bonus. You don't have to do anything for this bonus, just upgrading your guild lodge and it only requires an amount of completing daily quests (Short reminder: First you have to upgrade the hall, because its level determines the other building level limits.). Missing this DEC bonus is just a waste.
Reason #2:
There are some different editions of cards, for example Alpha, Dice or Chaos Legion. Another edition is "Gladius", but what is it and why there is a huge difference to other card editions?
You get Cladius cards out of Gladius cases. These cases can't be bought for credits, DEC, SPS, vouchers or real money. It's another currency in the splinterverse called "merits". You can earn merits by winning in the guild brawls. When you collected a total amount of 2000 merits, you can buy a gladius case in the shop of Splinterlands.
A gladius case contains five cards, like other card packs. The cards can only be played during guild brawls, not in the normal ranked mode.
The gladius cards aren't NFTs like all the other cards. They can't be sold on the market, because they are "souldbound" to your splinterlands account.
Maybe you ask yourself now "Why is this weird guy talking about these crazy cards? Why should I join a guild because of these cards, when I can't even sell them or play them in ranked?" I will explain you.
In my opinion the main reason why you should aim for getting those gladius cards is, that they give collection power. Especially for new players it is important to increase their collection power as fast as possible. You can do this with paying for cards with money or you try to perform well during the guild brawls and buy these gladius packs without investing own money.
I have a little practice example for you.
I earned 2000 merits over all and bought a gladius case. These are the cards containing it. Over all these five cards have a total amount of 80 collection power and that is the worst case. Maybe you get lucky and pull a legendary, which gives you 1000 collection power.
I think every player should make use of this source of increasing his collection power (Short Reminder: Your guild should have at least the arena at the first level to paticipate in brawls and the store at the second level to be able to buy gladius case. The hall must be at the second level.).
If you want to know more about the gladius case and the cards you can read this post.
Now we're at the end of this blog post. In my opinion you should really join a guild, especially because of these two reasons. But tere are many other good points joining a guild, too, for example being in a community, which is having the same interests (in this case Splinterlands) ist always great. And by the way, every player can join a guild, it doesn't matter how much card power or rating you have. I joined a guild before I even had 1000 collection power and it helped me a lot.
Allright, thanks to everyone reading this post up to this point. I hope I could help you a little bit. I would really apreciate some discusions in the commentaries about my post and its theme, or any other support.
Have some nice days!
