Yesterday afternoon, I accompanied guests who came to my city. They come from the fairy tale community of Jakarta. If you take a plane, between Jakarta and Aceh it takes around three hours. Initially we met at a coffee shop. It has become a habit for anyone who visits our city, we will entertain them in a coffee shop. After conveying the vision and mission, just yesterday I had the opportunity to accompany them to monitor the field. They want to research spices.
I contacted people on the plantation who were clove farmers. And it is located in the Lampuuk settlement 'Aceh Rayeuk'. When we arrived at the clove plantation location, we met Mahmed, one of the young men who was involved in maintaining village customs together with other people. There is a tributary whose water is very clear and flows slowly to residential areas. The air felt very fresh, occasionally there was a distinctive aroma of cloves and nutmeg. In the garden we met a clove farmer who had just brought in his clove harvest. I forgot the father's name.
From him we heard many interesting stories about their nature. Clove plantations are at the foot of Lampuuk hill. Actually, what they plant is not just cloves. There are also durian, nutmeg, areca nut and mango trees. According to the stories of the gardeners there, the cloves planted in the Lampuuk residents' plantations are the best cloves in the world. We talked for a long time in the park. My friend who did the research wanted to publish the story in a children's picture book.
