Everybody wants GFLs, right? If for nothing else for their market value and ongoing rental price potential.
Personally, I'd rather have the entire Chaos Legion regular set (or most of it) fully upgraded, than to receive a few GFLs. I don't mind both, though! :)
After opening a little over half of the 1376 CL packs I had (including gifts), my GFL "harvest" doesn't seem so impressive: 2 of them, both fiends. And 4 epic gold foils.
Today, despite odds, I received a GFL in the airdrop on the account where I had purchased fewer packs (yeah, I know, spllitting them was a strategic mistake, affiliate bonuses are hardly a match for the likely boost in airdrops).
The Spirit Hoarder GFL goes by 139 USD on the market at the time of writing this, which isn't so bad for a new card that hasn't showed its potential in combat. Of course, for GFLs the collectibility alone and the contribution to collection power make a lot of difference.
On the rental market the price is a little over 39 DEC per day, and going up probably, since it's the EOS.
This week I bought more packs, probably the last ones for CL in my case, as I do need to prioritize other things as well, and still have lots of packs to open. That brought me the status of Maverick, which considering I was involved with the game since 2018, it's surprising that I didn't seek earlier. At the same time, on the other account I just pushed to have over 500 packs bought (570 to be exact). As it happens, airdrop announcement from Splinterlands moved the minimum for a guaranteed drop to 500, so it seems that was a perfect timing.
