Every new player has heard of Mylor's oppressive takeover of lower leagues. We've all seen his price go from $3 to $34 PER BCX!!! It's not uncommon to see an opponent whose entire match history consists of Mylor and Unicorn Mustang, Flesh Golem, or the most hideous of them all, Kron the Undying. Is there any way beat this summoner reliably, or do we need to fork over 150 DEC per day for renting one ourselves? Can we put him back into his forest for timeout, or do we need to pack up our things and learn to live off the land?
In this article, I'll tell you exactly how to set yourself up for certain victory when facing opponents who are likely to use Mylor Crawling.
- When hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with the Thorns ability will do guaranteed Melee damage back to the attacker.
Mylor gives every monster on his team thorns.. that's right. Every, single, monster. Even that 0 mana Furious Chicken with no attack can unleash its fury on the Kraken (that would make for an epic anime fight). With that said, this means that our real battle is overcoming the thorns ability, one which is a natural ability on only 15 monsters in the entire game, so for you to get the ability on all of your monsters.. it's pretty strong, but it's not as OP as you might think.
THE BEST WAY TO BEAT MYLOR is to scout it ahead of time, and avoid using melee unless you have sufficient shielding to mitigate the crackback. Try using a neutral tank with high HP and no attack in the front while loading up your backline with ranged and magic damage dealers. If you've scouter your opponent using the Unicorn quick often or if you know your match history shows you play a lot of magic, swap over to ranged damage. Adding a healer like Divine Healer for your primary tank is also a great move.
The Best Attackless Tanks are Lord Arianthus, Onyx Sentinel, Almo Cambio, and Peaceful Giant. Some honorable mentions are Failed Summoner and Kelp Initiate, which are actually very useful secondary tanks.

Honorable Mention and Card to keep in your collection is Owster Rotwell. He gives your monsters the Magic Reflect Ability which is just as brutal as the Thorns ability!
