The Mycelic Infantry is the vanguard of Queen Mycelia's forces. Built to take damage, the Infantry uses the shield ability to reduce incoming physical damage. This giant mushroom-like creature is here to stay. Slow, unintelligent and strong, these fighters need guidance but repay with loyalty and their strength.
Ruleset
With zero restrictions, I'll be looking closely at my opponent's lineup and seeing if I can utilise a strategy to counter their strengths according to their recent history. Seeing a lot of Archery... I think it is time to unleash Mycelic Infantry and the armies of Queen Mycelia.

My Lineup
Obsidian
Obsidian is one of my favourite summoners especially in Bronze. The additional magic damage is something I want to utilise in this battle as I have seen my opponent has favoured ranged damage and this should cut through their armour.
Mycelic Infantry
The shield ability is the perfect option to overcome what I suspect to be strong physical damage. If I had room, I'd include Queen Mycelia here to buff the Mycelic Infantry a little longer. But I do not have many cards available to this account.
Khmer Princess
A superb cheap card that I am using in case of either snipe or opportunity. In both cases, I'd rather lose this card than the Goblin Psychic who will be doing more damage and healing my tank as well.
Goblin Psychic
The Goblin Psychic is a fantastic card which offers high damage and Tank Heal which is a superb ability. I am aiming to keep this card alive as long as possible. Certainly worth getting this card to Level 4 if you have the funds - Affliction is well worth the investment in my eyes.
Goblin Dartling
This is rear line fodder for me. I selected this card over the Xenith Archer for the sole reason of the increased speed. The additional speed mgives a small increase in the chance to miss an attack against it, otherwise, I am expecting this card to fall.
Opposing Lineup
Mother Khala
With the mana available, this was the only choice without losing the Celestial Harpy or the Stitch Leech. Additional 1 health should not pose any concern.
Chaos Knight
The Chaos Knight is the Life deck equivalent of the Mycelic Infantry at lower levels. Cheaper and faster, this card superb at what it does. The Shield ability will reduce physical damage. I am not expecting much of an issue here given my magic focus.
Stitch Leech
I really like this card but I do think that Uraeus is the better choice of the two. When a card has armour, I tend to chose that over a similar card without. That additional survivability is worth it. Either way, this could be the danger card for my line up as I have not really mitigated for it beyond my use of the Goblin Dartling in place of the Xenith Archer.
Venari Crystalsmith
One of the most played Life cards. I really like this card and it's ability to heal similar to the Goblin Psychic alongside ranged damage makes it an interesting proposition. I don't think this card will concern too much but could be a nuisance.
Celestial Harpy
This card can be a bit of an executioner against Earth. This is partly why I placed the Khmer Princess in the second position to ensure the Goblin Psychic does not get hit too quickly by this card.
Time Mage
One of the more popularly used cards in the Life deck. An excellent card but typically this is paired with a Pelacor Arbalest in order to make it more effective. I'm not sure this is the card I would have chosen here.
The Battle
My favourite moment is the Celestial Harpy bouncing off the Mycelic Infantry's armour and then being slapped back down to the floor by the Psychic, all before the Infantry strikes back at the Mage, fully healed again...
Final Thoughts:
The Mycelic Infantry did very well, doing its job as a tank - absorbing attacks where needs be. In fact, it took minimal damage from opponents throughout. As far as the strategy, using magic to defeat the opponent worked well and it helped to push past the opposing monsters with ease. Unfortunately for my opponent, the lineup worked well and worked around their strengths.
Mycelic Infantry - worth it?
Absolutely! I already own a regular from when I first began my Chaos Legion decks and a Gold Foil copy which I recently purchased as I move Holdeck2 into the Silver league with Common Gold Foil Cards as well as a few additions along the way. The Mycelic Infantry excels when it comes to brute force physical damage. Try to keep those pesky casters away and it will work like a charm!
I'm currently rearranging cards to try to even things out a little bit more. So next time, the regular foil copy will be playable by this account.
