One of my favorite strategies in the Modern format of Splinterlands involves low mana cost (up to 22), the Enrage ruleset, and the idea of diverting the enemy's focus toward less important targets while my team dismantles their frontline and backline using creatures with Sneak. I’ll share how I achieved this in a battle using simple monsters.
The concept here is straightforward.
Let the opponent waste their attacks on monsters that aren't my priority while I use Sneak to target the enemy's backline and frontline directly. With the Enrage ruleset, monsters get stronger when they take damage, so leveraging this mechanic was essential for an explosive victory.
"All units have Enrage (+50% melee power and speed if not at full health, rounded up). The attack multiplier only affects melee units.
Units with Inspire will increase your melee attack; Demoralize will decrease your opponent's melee attack."
One important thing to note here is to avoid using creatures with healing abilities or Heal Tank, as they lose the bonuses gained after being hit by the opponent.
Tarsa (Summoner)
The fire summoner that grants +1 melee attack and +1 health to all allies. This choice was central to boosting my monsters' damage and survivability since my focus was on a low-mana and Sneak strategy. As highlighted in many community analyses, Tarsa is ideal for aggressive setups and fits perfectly into my plan.
Venari Marksrat (1st Position):
Cheap and versatile, with abilities like Martyr (buffs adjacent allies when eliminated). I used it to "sacrifice" early on, ensuring the buffs activated quickly. Marksrat is the perfect decoy for the Enrage ruleset, as being attacked early in the game activates buffs for allies while distracting focus from the critical monsters. I’ve mostly used it for this purpose in battles.
Antoid Platoon (2nd Position):
My initial tank. With Shield, it reduces incoming physical damage and has a low mana cost. In the context of Enrage, it becomes even tougher and is perfect for absorbing the first hits while the rest of the team advances. With the buffs gained from Venari Marksrat sacrifice, it becomes an excellent frontline unit.
Chaos Agent (3rd Position):
Used as insurance for Tenyii Striker turn, Chaos Agent has abilities like Dodge, making it unpredictable and capable of avoiding physical attacks, frustrating the opponent's turn. Its utility goes beyond being a low-priority target; it creates an extra layer of protection for the monsters behind it, which are the core of my strategy.
Tenyii Striker (4th Position):
This is where the real attack begins. Tenyii Striker is a Sneak monster combining high damage with decent speed, making it great for breaking through enemy backline defenses. Its effectiveness in Enrage battles is well-known among experienced players, as its high attack and solid HP make it even deadlier when taking damage.
Uraeus (5th Position):
Another Sneak monster, its role in Sneak-based strategies is well understood by most Splinterlands players. Thanks to its neutral element, it fits well into any composition. It also has armor to delay its time on the battlefield.
Scorch Fiend (Last Position):
Used as a throwaway unit, it costs 0 mana, so if you can include it in your composition, just do it. It can be the difference between winning or losing.
Unfortunately, I was having trouble running Splinterlands on my computer, so I captured the images below using my phone. The new layout feels much cozier compared to the previous one.
The strategy worked as expected.
Although my opponent was also using the fire element, the same summoner, and almost identical creatures, they opted for a safer strategy focusing on a second frontline. They also protected their backline by adding a creature without an attack but with four health points.
Venari Marksrat was eliminated early as planned, buffing my nearby allies.
Meanwhile, Chaos Agent and Antoid Platoon were still alive. I think they were surviving longer than I wanted. This allowed Tenyii Striker and Uraeus to tear through the enemy's backline, eliminating major threats before they could deal much damage.
This composition highlights the power of indirect control in Splinterlands.
Instead of mindlessly attacking, I manipulated the field so my opponent’s most valuable monsters wasted turns on creatures that posed no real threat to them. This is a lesson on how well-thought-out, low-cost strategies can occasionally outperform seemingly stronger setups.

Outro monstro com Sneak, seu uso já ficou claro para muitos jogadores de Splinterlands que envolva qualquer estrategia com Sneak. Graças a seu elemento ser neutro, ele se encaixa bem em qualquer composição. Ainda contém com armadura para adiar seu tempo na batalha.
Scorch Fiend (Ăşltimo lugar):
Apenas utilizado como descarte, ele tem o custo de 0 de mana, então se conseguir adicionar ele a composição, apenas faça isso. É algo que pode ser entre ganhar ou perder.
Infelizmente estava com problemas para executar Splinterlands em meu computador, então capturei as imagens abaixo através do meu celular. O novo layout parece bastante aconchegante se comparado ao anterior.
A estratégia funcionou como esperado.
Embora o inimigo também estava utilizando o elemento de fogo, o mesmo invocador e quase as mesmas criaturas, se não fosse por preferir uma estrategia mais segura focando em um segundo linha de frente. Também pensou em proteger a linha de trás, adicionando uma criatura que não tem um ataque, mas quatro pontos de vida.
O Venari Marksrat foi eliminado cedo como previsto, buffando meus aliados prĂłximos.
Enquanto isso, Chaos Agent e Antoid Platoon ainda estavam vivos, acho que eles estão sobrevivendo mais tempo do que eu queria. Isso permitiu que Tenyii Striker e Uraeus rasgassem a retaguarda inimiga, eliminando as maiores ameaças antes que elas pudessem causar muito dano.
Essa composição destaca o poder do controle indireto em Splinterlands.
Em vez de apenas atacar sem pensar, manipulei o campo para que os monstros mais valiosos do meu adversário perdessem o turno com criaturas que normalmente não ofereciam perigo algum para ele. É uma lição de como estratégias de baixo custo e bem pensadas podem superar setups aparentemente mais fortes ocasionalmente.
