If you’re also keeping an eye on the latest updates, you might have seen the Splinterlands Town Hall Summary - October 17th, 2024. But, hey, I have to admit that I missed an important detail there, and luckily, some friends I play with on Hive recently pointed it out.
Let’s talk about what truly surprised me.
Among the future projects, right at the start, there was the Mobile App. That's right, it seems they’re finally considering bringing back a decent mobile app version. If you joined later or are still new to Splinterlands, you might not know, but there was a mobile version of the game before.
However, it didn’t resemble its Web version much.
Deprecation of Splinterlands Mobile App
Let’s say it didn’t have the most glorious ending; it was the kind of app that wanted to be good but fell short on crucial aspects, like crashing during card selection or simply not loading the battle even after listing the result in the history. Now, if they really bring this app back and do it right this time, it’s going to be an excellent addition for the community. In my view, Splinterlands is a game that deserves all the accessibility possible, and a functional app would be an amazing way to achieve that.
Anyone who plays knows that the main way to play on mobile today is through a browser, and honestly, it’s not the most fluid experience.
Let’s be real, mobile is currently the key point to reach the audience.
We’re in a world where people use their phones for everything, and sometimes a quick play on the bus or in the grocery line makes all the difference. A dedicated, well-made app would be key to attracting new players and keeping those already here more engaged. This would not only increase the player base but also boost the market, trades, and strategies on Hive.
On that note, I’ll bring back a post that may be a bit outdated, shared by @freeztag in 2022. A lot of new things have come to Splinterlands, but the concept he created still seems interesting and straightforward in other words, functional.

If the Splinterlands team is truly committed to bringing the app back, I imagine they’ll take past mistakes into account and, hopefully, also apply the best practices of today’s mobile games.
More than just a simple mobile version, this app could offer new features that the desktop version doesn’t even have. For example, imagine having a dedicated tab just for the marketplace, making buying and selling cards easier.
Finally, I think this decision is long overdue.
The Splinterlands team has been making some good progress, and mobile would be a huge leap forward.
I know that many players, like myself, will support this idea because any improvement that makes the game more accessible and expands our experience is more than welcome. After all, a more accessible and diverse community only strengthens Splinterlands.

Mas, olha só, admito que deixei passar um detalhe importante e, felizmente, alguns amigos que jogam comigo na Hive me chamaram atenção sobre isso recentemente.
Vamos falar do que realmente me pegou de surpresa.
Entre os projetos futuros, logo de cara, lá estava Mobile App. Pois é, parece que estão, finalmente, pensando em trazer de volta uma versão decente do app móvel. Se você chegou depois ou ainda é novo no Splinterlands, talvez nem saiba, mas já rolou uma versão mobile do jogo.
Só que ela não fazia semelhança com sua versão Web.

Digamos que nĂŁo teve o destino mais glorioso Ă© claro, era aquele tipo de app que queria ser bom, mas falhava em coisas cruciais, como travar durante a seleção de cartas ou simplesmente nĂŁo carregar a batalha, mesmo depois de listar o resultado no histĂłrico. Agora, se eles realmente voltarem com esse app e dessa vez fizerem direito, isso vai ser uma baita adição para a comunidade. Na minha visĂŁo, Splinterlands Ă© um jogo que merece toda facilidade de acesso, e um aplicativo funcional seria um caminho incrĂvel pra alcançar isso.
Quem joga sabe que, hoje, o principal jeito de jogar no celular Ă© pelo navegador, e, sinceramente, nĂŁo Ă© a experiĂŞncia mais fluida do mundo.
Vamos falar a verdade, o mobile Ă© atualmente o ponto chave para acessar o pĂşblico.
Estamos num mundo onde a galera usa o celular pra tudo, e, muitas vezes, aquela jogadinha rápida no Ă´nibus ou na fila do mercado faz toda a diferença. Um app dedicado, bem feito, seria a chave pra atrair novos jogadores e manter os que já estĂŁo por aqui mais engajados. E aĂ, nĂŁo sĂł a base de jogadores aumenta, mas tambĂ©m o movimento no mercado, nas trocas e nas estratĂ©gias da Hive.
Aproveitando isso, eu irei resgatar uma postagem que talvez esteja obsoleta sobre uma repaginada, afinal a postagem publicada por @freeztag em 2022. A muitas coisas novas em Splinterlands, mas o conceito que ele criou parece bastante interessante e direto. Ou seja, funcional.

Se a equipe do Splinterlands está realmente empenhada em voltar com o app, imagino que eles vão levar em conta os erros do passado e, com sorte, também as boas práticas dos jogos mobile de hoje.
Mais do que uma simples versĂŁo mobile, esse app poderia oferecer novidades e funcionalidades que nem a versĂŁo para desktop tem. Por exemplo, imagina ter uma aba dedicada sĂł ao marketplace, facilitando a compra e venda de cartas.
Por fim, eu acho que essa é uma decisão que já passou do tempo.
A equipe do Splinterlands tem dado uns passos bons, e o mobile seria um avanço enorme.
Eu sei que muitos jogadores, assim como eu, vĂŁo apoiar essa ideia, porque qualquer melhoria que facilite o acesso ao jogo e amplie nossa experiĂŞncia Ă© mais do que bem-vinda. Afinal, uma comunidade mais acessĂvel e diversa sĂł fortalece o Splinterlands.
