If there’s one thing that Splinterlands players love, it’s a good twist and update, and this time, the new feature comes in the form of a revamped Leaderboard. But before you start shouting "they buffed the rewards, let’s farm," let's take a closer look at what changed and why this might be more interesting than it seems at first glance.

First, if you’ve ever complained (like I have) that leaderboards should be fairer and more rewarding, then good news.
Now, each league has its own ranking. Yes, it was already like that before, but the difference is that now it’s actually worth fighting for your position. The reward? The much-coveted Glint. And now, it’s not just the top 10 who get the benefits; the top 100 players in each league get a slice of the pie.

Now, there's an interesting detail about how it works.
The leaderboard you participate in is determined by your initial rating after the season reset. So, regardless of whether you climb to higher leagues or drop in ranking throughout the season, you will continue competing in the same league where you started. So, if you begin the season in Silver, even if you climb to Gold, your rewards will be based on the Silver league ranking. And next season, depending on your initial rating after the reset, you may be placed directly in Gold and compete on that leaderboard.
On one hand, this solves the old frustration of seeing top players crushing less experienced ones just to farm rewards in lower leagues. But on the other hand, it raises an intriguing question:
What if I want to stay in a specific league?
Apparently, now you are forced to move up if your rating allows it. But here’s the tricky part.
How do you stay in the same league without moving up?
Would you have to lose on purpose to keep your rating below the cutoff? That seems a bit strange to me, and if that’s really the case, it’s something that needs to be adjusted.
Now, talking numbers, the rewards have become much more interesting.
The first place in the Champion league ranking takes home 1,000,000 Glint, while even the top 100 in Bronze still get something. This means that no matter your position, you have a chance to earn something at the end of the season.
And let’s be honest.
A little extra incentive to play is always welcome, right?
However, this change also brings a strategic dilemma. Since your position on the Leaderboard is locked at the beginning of the season, some players might start the season by taking it easy to secure a lower ranking and compete on a table where they have a better chance of winning. And if this becomes a common strategy, it could create a weird metagame where players deliberately avoid moving up to avoid tougher competition.
In other words, we might see players "strategically playing badly" in the first matches of the season just to secure an easier Leaderboard. That is, of course, unless there’s a future limitation to prevent this kind of behavior.
Another important point to consider is the impact on the game's economy.
With more players receiving Glint, the currency could suffer devaluation unless there are efficient ways to spend it that keep the balance. And if Glint becomes more accessible, will the game’s cards and assets follow this inflation?
It's still too early to say, but it’s something worth keeping an eye on.
I have no idea.
Overall, the Leaderboard update seems like a positive change. It makes the game more accessible for those who want to compete without necessarily being at the absolute top. But there are still some gaps in execution that could lead to unexpected (and not necessarily healthy) gameplay strategies. As always, it all depends on how the community adapts and how the Splinterlands team responds to feedback and adjusts the system over time.

Primeiro, se você já reclamou (assim como eu) que as leaderboards deveriam ser mais justas e recompensadoras, então boas notícias.
Agora cada liga tem seu próprio ranking. Sim, já era assim antes, mas a diferença é que agora está realmente valendo a pena disputar sua posição. A recompensa? O tão desejado Glint. E agora não é só o top 10 que se dá bem, os 100 melhores jogadores de cada liga recebem uma fatia desse bolo.
Eu já poderia ficar um pouco assustado é claro, veja minha classificação atual:
Agora, o funcionamento tem um detalhe curioso.
A leaderboard na qual você participa é definida pelo seu rating inicial depois do reset da temporada. Ou seja, independentemente de você subir para ligas superiores ou descer no ranking ao longo da temporada, você continua competindo na mesma liga onde começou. Então, se você iniciar a temporada no Prata, mesmo que escale até o Ouro, suas recompensas serão baseadas no ranking da liga Prata. E na próxima temporada, dependendo do seu rating inicial após o reset, você pode ser alocado direto no Ouro e competir nessa tabela.
Isso, por um lado, resolve aquela velha frustração de ver jogadores de topo esmagando os menos experientes só para farmar recompensas em ligas inferiores. Mas, por outro, levanta uma questão intrigante:
E se eu quiser permanecer em uma liga específica?
Aparentemente, agora você é obrigado a subir caso seu rating permita. Mas aí vem o detalhe nebuloso
Como manter-se na mesma liga sem subir?
Você teria que perder propositalmente para manter seu rating abaixo da linha de corte? Isso me parece um tanto estranho, e se for mesmo o caso, é um ponto que precisa ser ajustado.
Agora, falando de números, as recompensas ficaram muito mais interessantes.
O primeiro lugar no ranking da liga Campeão leva 1.000.000 de Glint, enquanto o top 100 do Bronze ainda garante alguma coisa. Isso significa que, independentemente da sua posição, você tem chance de receber algo no final da temporada.
E vamos ser sinceros.
Um incentivo a mais para jogar nunca é demais, né?
No entanto, a mudança também traz um dilema estratégico. Como a sua posição no Leaderboard é travada no início da temporada, alguns jogadores podem começar a temporada pegando leve para garantir um ranking mais baixo e competir em uma tabela onde têm mais chances de ganhar. E se isso se tornar uma estratégia comum, pode acabar criando um metagame esquisito onde os jogadores deliberadamente evitam subir de liga para não enfrentar desafios maiores.
Ou seja, pode ser que vejamos a galera jogando "estrategicamente mal" nas primeiras partidas da temporada só para garantir um Leaderboard mais tranquilo. Isso, claro, se não houver alguma limitação futura para impedir esse tipo de comportamento.
Outro ponto importante a considerar é o impacto disso na economia do jogo.
Com mais jogadores recebendo Glint, a moeda pode sofrer uma desvalorização, a menos que haja formas eficientes de gastá-la que mantenham o equilíbrio. E se o Glint se tornar mais acessível, será que as cartas e ativos do jogo vão acompanhar essa inflação?
Ainda é cedo para dizer, mas vale ficar de olho nesse aspecto econômico.

No geral, a atualização da Leaderboard parece ser uma mudança positiva. Torna o jogo mais acessível para quem quer competir sem necessariamente estar no topo absoluto. Mas ainda há algumas lacunas na execução que podem gerar estratégias inesperadas (e não necessariamente saudáveis) para a jogabilidade. Como sempre, tudo vai depender de como a comunidade se adapta e de como a equipe do Splinterlands responde aos feedbacks e ajusta o sistema com o tempo.
Agora eu quero saber de vocês.
