Let's talk about my lineup
Summoner: Immortalis
Immortalis gives my whole team void. The decreased health on my opponent's monsters along with Shatter for all of mine are just gravy. Void for the earth splinter borders on overpowered. Most of the headlines that I saw when Immortalis' stats were released gave me the impression that a lot of people weren't impressed. I am impressed! Immortalis is sooo good. To put his power level into perspective think about the strongest tanks around. The automatic defacto tank in the earth splinter is Unicorn Mustang like 9 times out of 10 because it has void. Now the whole team has void and Unicorn Mustang is nearly obsolete. Grund looks like a Unicorn Mustang with double strike. Mycelic Infantry gets void AND shield. Coeurl Lurker suddenly has void with dodge, taunt and at level 2 picks up phase.
Tank: Grund
Grund has a chance to put in work and lay down 6 damage per turn. Between the target practice ruleset and having void from Immortalis, Grund was able to stick around for the whole battle (I guess my whole team did, shrug).
1st position: Centauri Mage
The return fire from Centauri Mage obliterated my opponent's Javelin Thrower and their magic attacks couldn't seem to do much between void from Immortalis and silence from my Mushroom Seer.
2nd position: Queen Mycelia
helps my team with the protect ability.
3rd position: Goblin Psychic
Combines a reliable attack with the tank heal ability.
4th position: Mushroom Seer
One of my favorite combinations is to use a void monster like Torhilo or Oshannus combined with Bortus. The combination of Immortalis with Mushroom Seer might be even better as the stronger effect is void which ends up being the effect that my summoner gives the whole team here.
5th position (rear tank): Hunter Jarx
I frequently put too much stock in the fantastic magic attackers in the earth splinter. I like to mix it up with a good ranged attack in this position.
Did we win?
Yes. My opponent had 4 magic attacks while my whole team had void.
Do I like Grund?
Yes. A fantastic monster. I don't use Grund frequently because of the need for some protection. I usually reserve Grund for times when I can put Mycelic Slipspawn in the back or have Grund attack from somewhere in the back line. Immortalis is the perfect pairing as void makes Grund a perfect tank.
What will I try differently next time?
I'm not sure that I would change much. I would have liked to use Mitica Headhunter over Hunter Jarx if I had the mana. I also would have loved to squeeze in Prismatic Energy if I had an extra slot somewhere.
Thanks for reading and thanks for all the upvotes, reblogs, comments and follows. I'll see you in the game.
