The Serpentine Spy is a really handy addition to the Fire lineup on Splinterlands. The opportunity ability adds a great dimension, and can quickly pick off the weaker monsters in your opponents lineup.

As you can see, my Spy is at level 4. Still useful with Malric or Daria boosting the Melee attack. I particularly like using the Spy with Daria and team it up with its fellow opportunity attacker, the Dragon Jumper. That's what I did in the following battle, and despite the fairly high manna of the battle, this little Spy held its own.
Battle Link
The rules for this battle where Silenced Summoners and Melee Mayhem with a 48 Manna Cap. The full lineup I used was:
- Exploding Dwarf lvl 8 - big attack, fast and then hoping to get a retaliation hit in as well. Didn't happen in this battle, but still one of my favourite cards.
- Molten Ogre lvl 6 - With Melee Mayhem rule, some demoralize fits nicely in the team, big and slow, but plenty of Manna to survive a few hits.
- Dragon Jumper lvl 1 - The Spy's partner in crime for this battle, an awesome card and one I definitely need to level up.
- Serpentine Spy lvl 4 - Definitely small in a big manna battle, but he held his own and opportunity skill benefited the lineup.
- Elemental Phoenix lvl 3 - Love the magic blast from this speady and damaging legendary. One of my first picks in nearly any fire team I put together.
- Ettin Spearman gold lvl 6 - rounds out the lineup with 4 ranged and piercing to try and belt down the enemy tank.
So how did it go?
Got the win. The speed of the two opportunity monsters helped a lot, with several misses from the opponents slower melee attackers. The Spy got the kill on the opponents Flesh Golem, before being taken out by the Vulture. In the end, Phoenix and Spearman finished off the battle, but the Spy and Jumper probably won the fight by knocking out the tank healing Wood Nymph early in the fight.

If you have never heard of Splinterlands, check it out and let me know so I can help you get started.
Cheers,
JK.
