Step-By-Step Art...
I first shape her head using the reference of the real art, and also pencil lined her hair.
Then, if you look closely, the second part of her hair is like a bit shaved and I added some cool braids.
I pencil lined her ocean blue clothes and added a golden choker necklace on her throat...
Added her a slim belly with a cheerleading skirt! (I removed the legs later since they weren't a good fit)
Gave her a "back from the gym" arm, a glove, and made her hold her trident.
Changed her arm position to make her look "battle ready", gave her a second arm, and added magical fumes...
Applied some convincing shadowing..

Nerissa is a fierce aquatic warrior. She guards the oceans, rivers, and lakes with her charmed trident. She is well-known in seaside settlements, and people frequently seek her assistance. She has destroyed gigantic sea animals that would otherwise slaughter everyone in their way. She has saved sailors from hurricanes and even alerted towns of impending tsunamis in order to save lives. Her tenacity and genius in warfare have earned her the moniker "Nerissa the Hurricane."
Nerissa was born and nurtured by the sea, and she learned to swim before she could walk. She was always drawn to the water. And it sparked a profound magic within her. An ancient tide and wave mana. Nerissa responded to the summons and now wanders across the Splinterlands' continents.
When settlers and explorers arrived in Praetoria, Nerissa was there to assist them at every step of the way. But the blight that had overtaken the land concerned her much. Its taint extended to the rivers she so much adored. She frequently crossed encounters with Igor the Finback and his Trench Dweller clan. She had to draw back each time or risk having all of them assault her at once.
When Nerissa discovered the Chaos Legion's larger agenda, she pledged to defend Praetoria and her citizens with her life.
Nerissa was swept to the shore by a wave. A little settlement, surrounded by bush and now soaked in a fierce downpour, awaiting her.
Squinting, a dock worker held out his lantern. Then he exclaimed. "Hurricane Nerissa!"
Nerissa's bare feet came into touch with the coarse sand. She took a fast step towards him. "Everyone in the community must be gathered!" A massive tidal surge is on its way. "I shall take the people to higher ground for safety."
"Of course, ma'am!" He abruptly turned and dashed towards the houses.
Nerissa turned to face the wrathful sea. The strong wind blew her hair away from her face. Nobody would perish tonight. On her watch, no way.
