Overview
The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁
I have only one problem with this new Weekly Challenges is the fact that it is totally random to get that ruleset and it is advised to win it as well. Unfortunately I had only one battle with the Back to Basics ruleset and I lost that one. Hopefully I will learn from it! 😊
Today I played a similar ruleset to Back to Basics, so I wanted to show you that battle. The ruleset I was playing with is the Silenced Summoners, which is very similar to the Back to Basics.
The only difference is that instead of the monsters the Summoners lose all their abilities for the whole battle. 😲
The upcoming Battle ruleset
Ruleset | Description |
---|---|
Aim True | Melee and Ranged attacks always hit their target. |
Even Stevens | Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles. |
Silenced Summoners | Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities. |
My lineup
![]() | Currently Camila Sungazer became a more budget friendly summoner than Quix the Devious whom I played a lot with. I started to realise that Camila has a lot of potential, because in almost every battle there are melee attack creatures. Camila will reduce the Melee attack by one to all the enemy monsters, but unfortunately not in this battle, because her ability is not working. It is very good that she cost only 3 mana, so I will have more mana for the monsters! 😊 |
The Djinn Chwala is a pretty strong monster especially in lower levels, because from Level 1 he has the Thorns ability, which means that when this monster is being hit with a melee attack he will damage back to the attacker 1 or 2 damage. He also has huge health and armor, which is a must have for a good tank. The only counter for him is the magic attack creatures, because they can damage under his armor and the Thorns ability will be useless against them. The +1 damage for a Level 5 Chwala is an amazing deal! 😁 | ![]() |
![]() | The Chaos Dragon is a monster that I always try to include into any of my Dragon battles. He is expensive, but his abilities and body with huge health is something that you can't ignore. This creature has Scattershot, which means when he attacks his target will be random, so you can't hide behind the tank and to make it worse he will attack with a Blast, which will do an additional damage to monsters adjacent to his target monster. His third ability is Blind, which comes handy to protect my team against melee and ranged attacks. 😇 |
Queen Mycelia is am ust have if you want to build up some protection to your monsters, because she has the Protect ability, which will provide +2 armor to all of her friendly monsters. The Triage is also excellent to heal the most damaged monster in her backline. 😉 | ![]() |
![]() | The Goblin Psychic is very slow and a weak monster stats-wise, but his most important abilities are the Tank Heal and the Affliction. He is a must have in a team with Obsidian to heal our tank and remove the heal from the enemy tank (the trigger rate for the Affliction is 50%).😆 |
The Khmer Princess is a quite expensive monster to rent, because she always cost around 40-50 DEC on its own. The reason for that is that she is a very cheap card costing only 2 mana to play, which is an easy fit into any kind of setup. The other amazing ability of her is the Tank Heal capability, which makes her the second cheapest healer in the game after the Albatross. 😱 | ![]() |
![]() | The Sporcerer is a quite unique creature, because he has the most valuable abilities amongst many monsters, but unfortunately stats wise he is quite weak as well like the Goblin Psychic. He has the Rust ability, which will reduce the armor of all enemy monsters by 2 and also has Silence as well to decrease the magic attack of the enemy monsters by one. 😅 |
The Battle
My opponent also choosed the Dragon Splinter, but he picked Quix the Devious and he costed one more mana than mine! He had a team with a much higher speed and the Countess Sinash also boosted that with plus one. 😒
Arkemis the Bear used his Protect ability to give +2 armor to all of his friendly creatures, but my Sporcerer countered that easily.
In the first round both of us took some serious damage and luckily I managed to kill his tank by the end of the round. 😊
The Enrage on my Djinn Chwala worked like a charm and he killed his Arkemis with only one attack damaging 6 on him.
I received a lot of heal from my team even though I lost the Khmer Princess early in the battle. Queen Mycelia worked a lot to use her Triage ability and heal my backline. 🙏
Battle Result
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy was to bring as much healer as I can, because I had to rely solely the power of my monsters as my Summoner didn't have any ability to help my team.
I had a lot of heal, so I tried to outlast my opponent monsters, because he brought a Fire team with his Dragons and usually they do not have any support apart from the Protect ability of the Arkemis who was succesfully countered by my Sporcerer. 😅
