Overview
Today I brought a Ranked battle, where two of my favorite ruleset are in play, so it will be very important to pay attention to them otherwise you can easily lose this battle. π
My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

Ruleset | Description |
---|---|
Noxious Fumes | All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. |
Melee Mayhem | Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position. |
The mana cap for my next battle was only 29, which not much at least it is not my liking, so I might use only one ore two high mana cost monster or try to build a budget team to support each other. π
The Noxious Fumes ruleset will Poison all the monsters on the battlefield, which means that every start of the round it will damage all the monsters by two unless they have the Immunity or Cleanse ability, which will make them ignore this ruleset completely.
Usually I like the Melee Mayhem ruleset (which allows all the melee attack monsters to attack from any position), but only if the mana cap is higher and in this case I need to focus on the Noxious Fumes ruleset more, because it is quite dangerous. π
My lineup
![]() | My plan was to use Franz Ruffmane as my Summoner, becasuse he gives +1 armor to his monsters therefore they will be able to block one incoming melee or ranged attack completely. He is also one of the highest levelled Summoner that I have, which made my choice picking him more easier even though he cost six mana. He is also has teh ability to bring one additional Gladiator monster into this battle, which is always a very good addition to any teamπ |
The Halfling Refugee cost almost nothing and it works really well in low mana battles, such as this one. His stats quite high compared to his mana cost, but he has a weakness, because his only ability will make him to skip his turn gradually whenever he comes to do anything. π | ![]() |
![]() | Usually the Pelacor Conjurer is not the strongest monster within the Life Splinter and he also doesn't have any attack, but many times his high speed and his Flying ability means a lot to dodge the enemy melee and ranged attacks. Luckily in this battle he will get +2 magic attack from Aves behind him, so for only two mana he evolves into a perfect off-tank. π |
Aves Sturges doesn't have too much stats apart from his +2 magic attack, but he has the Weapon Trainings ability, which will give his own magic attack to his adjacent non-attack monsters making them damage dealers, which is quite powerful. πͺ | ![]() |
![]() | Helmet Kharafax doesn't have any kind of attack on its own, that is why he has such a good passive abilities plus with the magic attack buff from Aves he would be able to attack and try to take advantage of his Bloodlust ability, which means if he kills his target he will increase all of his stat by one. π |
The Venari Marksrat is a Martyr monster and apart from that he doesn't have too much stats. He doesn't need to be strong at all, because he has one important ability, which means that he will increase the stats of the monsters next to him by one if he dies and in the Noxious Fumes ruleset that is going to happen very quickly. π€ | ![]() |
![]() | The Djinn Renova is an excellent magic attack damage dealer and supporter, because she has +3 attack damage and the Fortify ability, which will increase the health of all of her friendly monsters. She also has the Triage ability, which is amazing, because she will be able to Heal one of her backline monster who took the most damage once in every round. This two powerful ability would means a lot in the Noxious Fumes ruleset. π |
The Battle

My opponent brought the Kelya who is an Water Summoner and his main power is to give +1 speed and armor to all of his monsters, so they will be able to block one full melee or ranged attack, which is always worth considering bringing him. π€
In the first round my team quickly killed their zero mana cost Torrent Fiend and just before the first round finished my team also lost our Halfling Refugee, but he took quite a lot of damage, which was a good sign.
At the beginning of the second round the Poison damaged everyone with 2 damage and it killed their Hardy Stonfish at their back who had only two health. π
Our Pelacor Conjurer almost died against their Sentry, but luckily he managed to dodge her second attack and survived.
The Poison attacked all the monsters again in the third round and it killed their Venari Marksrat who activated his Martyr ability this way and buffed up their Oshannus and Sentry. Luckily I didn't lose anyone, but their Oshannus killed our Conjurer.
Still in the same round my Djinn Renova killed their Oshannus who was the strongest monster in their team and just before the round finished the rest of my team finally killed their Sentry who was the last monster, so my team won this battle for me. π

Battle Result
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy was to try to survive long enough while the Poison and my team manages to kill the enemy monsters.
None of us had a monster with the Immunity ability, so eventually everyone will die and that is why I used Kharafax in the middle of my team, because he has the Scavanger ability as well, which means if a monster dies on the battlefield he will increase his maximum Health by one. π€
