While we 're still technically in my first month in the Splinterlands it's safe to say I've fallen hard. Multiple articles written, the ladder is climbed, I've got a great guild, played my first tournament, and am building my collection. To show just a bit of appreciation for this fantastic and wonderful game I wanted to enter the weekly art contest.
From the following image can you guess what my favorite card of the first month is?
So listen, I understand a lot of people arnt going to consider anything made in photoshop art worthy of being in a contest. I'm unfortunately extremely artistically disinclined (and colorblind!) so Im going to use the tools I enjoy, haha.
As requested I'll say a bit about the process I use to make images like this. I usually start with grabbing 20-40 images related to the subject matter and scroll through them in photoshop through some clever selection, resizing, and image transformation I rearrange everything just like if I was making a traditional collage with scissors and glue.
From there I go in and adjust the brightness and shadows to be roughly balianced while not washing out all the details. Next comes a few modivications and effects to put some finishing touches and capture the weird stencil pop-art design style I love.
I'm extremely colorblind and from everything I've read people like me respond more to contrast than hue. When I create something like this it's pretty clear my broken eye-hardware changing my taste in design, haha.
Comment on this post with who you think my favorite card of the month is and who you most like to pair them with! I hope I was able to make sopmething you enjoyed!
