Hello my dear community of #Splinterlands, happy midweek to all who are here and welcome once again to my artistic blog, today I want to share with you my last entry for the weekly contest of the community; it is a drawing in which I decided to choose a card that caught my attention as it is the card of (Lemell Refugee). This is a very cool character as it is a refugee who seeks justice against those who attacked her home and which is capable of measuring herself against any of them in combat, to try to regain some of that honor and peace that was taken away from her and her people:
Hola mi querida comunidad de #Splinterlands, feliz mitad de semana para todos los que por aquí se encuentran y sean bienvenidos una vez más a mi blog artístico, hoy quiero compartirles mi ultima entrada para el concurso semanal de la comunidad; se trata de un dibujo en el cual decidí elegir una carta que me llamo poderosamente la atención como lo es la carta de (Lemell Refugee). Este es un personaje muy genial ya que se trata de una refugiada la cual busca justicia contra los que atacaron su hogar y la cual es capaz de medirse contra cualquiera de ellos en combate, para tratar de recuperar un poco de ese honor y paz que les arrebataron a ella y a su pueblo:

To start with my illustration I decided to adjust a little the appearance of the character, despite being a fervent warrior I wanted to print a little warmth and tenderness to her face with light strokes in my style; little by little I established the main sketch as I wanted and then I could dedicate myself to paint it very carefully. The colors to choose for my character were mostly from my personal color palette, for example, the skin, the hair and the base of the suit I created with very common colors in my works; for the upper areas of the armor as the species of crystals and the gold parts I edited a little the colors in the color wheel to get tones that I liked more.
Para empezar con mi ilustración decidí ajustar un poco la apariencia del personaje, a pesar ser una ferviente guerrera quise imprimirle un poco de calidez y ternura a su rostro con ligeros trazos a mi estilo; poco a poco establecí el boceto principal como quería y ya luego pude dedicarme a pintarlo con mucho cuidado. Los colores a elegir para mi personaje fueron en su mayoría de mi paleta de colores personal, por ejemplo, la piel, el cabello y la base del traje las cree con colores muy habituales en mis obras; para las zonas superiores de la armadura como las especies de cristales y las partes de oro si edite un poco los colores en la rueda de color para conseguir tonos que me gustaran más.
I was establishing the shape of the skin and more specifically of the face that would be the most visible with airbrush strokes first which I blurred a little, then I moved on to flatter and more defined tones and brushes to get a much better shape; I blurred a few parts and finally added some blush to the face for a more feminine and delicate touch. After finishing the base of the skin I continued with the eyes and other details of the face, the eyes for example I really liked to paint them because I loved the different colored eyes in the character like in the style of (Heterochrony); and finally with a small brush I created the eyelashes very carefully.
Fui estableciendo la forma de la piel y mas concretamente del rostro que seria lo mas visible con trazos de aerógrafo primero los cuales difuminé un poco, para luego pasarme a tonos y pinceles mas planos y definidos para conseguir una forma mucho mejor lograda; fui difuminando pocas partes y finalmente añadí algo de rubor al rostro para un toque un poco mas femenino y delicado. Después de terminar la base de la piel continue con los ojos y demás detalles del rostro, los ojos por ejemplo me gustaron mucho pintarlos pues me encanto en el personaje los ojos de diferente color como a estilo de (Heterocronía); ya por último con un pincel pequeño cree las pestañas con bastante cuidado.
The next step in my painting process was the most laborious and it was about the suit of (Lemell Refugee), here I had a fairly light purple base and what I did was to give it a little appearance as a somewhat robust and somewhat metallic suit; then continue doing the same for the part of armor that go in the areas of the legs and waist with a little darker and more intense tones. The next thing was to achieve that look like pure gold in certain areas and of course the blue crystal in the men and forearms, here it takes me even longer because I wanted to achieve the highest level of detail and above all realism as possible, plus I used a couple of layer effects to achieve the final shines.
El siguiente paso en mi proceso de pintado fue de los más laboriosos y se trato de el del traje de (Lemell Refugee), aquí tenía una base de morado bastante claro y lo que hice fue darle un poco de apariencia como de traje algo robusta y algo metálica; después continue haciendo lo mismo para la parte de armadura que van en las zonas de las piernas y cintura con tonos un poco mas oscuros e intensos. Lo siguiente fue lograr esa apariencia como de oro puro en ciertas zonas y por supuesto del cristal azul en los hombres y antebrazos, aquí me demora todavía mas pues quise lograr el mayor nivel de detalle y sobre todo de realismo posible; además de que empleé un par de efectos de capas para lograr los brillos finales.
Continuing with the hair I decided to use the airbrush a lot here and also to use a little blurred effect to soften the hair and make it look much better, I also used an open tip brush to create wavy and lively strands and lines of hair. After finishing the hair what I did was to give a good shape to the staff that accompanies our warrior, for this I decided to create a lot of metallic texture for the long part of the staff; and for the tip I decided to create a shiny crystal look very similar to the one on the shoulders of the armor.
Continuando con el cabello decidí usar mucho aquí el pincel aerógrafo y también usar un poco de efecto desenfocado para suavizar el pelo y que este se viera mucho mejor, usé también un pincel de punta abierta para crear mechones y líneas de cabello algo onduladas y vivas. Ya después de terminar el cabello lo que hice fue darle una buena forma al báculo que acompaña a nuestra guerrera, para esto decidí crear mucha textura metalizada para la parte larga del báculo; y para la punta decidí crear una apariencia como de cristal brillante muy similar a la que hay en los hombros de la armadura.
Finally and to complement my drawing I decided to create a kind of sky scenery with a perspective as if I was contemplating (Lemell Refugee) from below, I created some diffuse white lines which I was stretching a little with the finger brush and thus I managed to give them an appearance of clouds that I liked a lot; I also darkened a little more the sky in this part to achieve a little more distance and depth in the sky. And to finish everything I added some last reflective sparkles in the crystal areas, this to better resemble this material; I really loved doing this and of course I will use it more often in future works.
Por ultimo y para complementar mi dibujo decidí crear una especie de escenario de cielo con una perspectiva como si se estuviera contemplando a (Lemell Refugee) desde abajo, cree algunas líneas blancas difusas las cuales fui estirando un poco con el pincel de dedo y así logre darles una apariencia de nubes que me gusto mucho; también oscure un poco mas el cielo en esta parte para lograr un poco más de lejanía y profundidad en el cielo. Ya para finalizar todo agregue unos últimos destellos reflejantes en las zonas de cristal, esto para asemejar mejor este material; la verdad me encanto mucho hacer esto y por supuesto que lo empleare más seguido en futuras obras.
