Hello everyone! Today I'm back with another entry in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge initiative. This time, I'll be covering one of the new features the Splinterlands team has brought us over the past few weeks.
¡Hola a todos! Hoy vuelvo con otra participación en la iniciativa del Social Media Challenge de Splinterlands. En esta ocasión, voy a estar tratando una de las novedades que nos trajo en estas semanas el equipo de Splinterlands.
A few weeks ago they announced the launch of a new game mode in Splinterlands, which was finally called “Frontier”. This new mode has the following features:
It is a freetoplay mode, ideal for new players to start getting familiar with the game mechanics without having to invest a single dollar.
This format will not share energy like Wild Ranked and Modern Ranked, but will have its own energy that can be accumulated up to a total of 50.
No SPS or GLINT is earned for winning battles, but players who achieve certain daily victories are rewarded with a card from the Foundations Set.
It has only three ranks: Bronze, Silver and Gold, where we will receive a chest for increasing our rank.
It is necessary to complete the campaign mode to play this mode, since only cards from the Foundations set can be used exclusively.
Hace unas semanas anunciaron el lanzamiento de un nuevo modo de juego en Splinterlands, que finalmente fue llamada "Frontier". Este nuevo modo cuenta con las siguientes caracteristicas:
Es un modo freetoplay, ideal para que nuevos jugadores comiencen a familiarizarse con las mecanicas del juego sin tener que invertir ni un solo dólar.
Cste formato no compartira energia al igual que Wild Ranked y Modern Ranked, sino que tendra su propia que se puede acumular hasta un total de 50.
No se obtiene ni SPS ni GLINT por ganar las batallas, pero se recompensa a los jugadores que consigan ciertas victorias diarias, con una carta del Set Foundations.
Cuenta con tan sólo tres rangos: Bronce, Plata y Oro, dónde recibiremos cofre por aumentar nuestro rango.
Es necesario completar el modo campaña para jugar este modo, ya que solo se puede usar exclusivamente cartas del set Foundations.
For experienced players, Frontier may not be the most attractive mode in terms of challenge. However, it offers an interesting incentive for those who have a lot of time: rewards.
These rewards consist of random cards from the Foundation set, allowing you to upgrade existing copies and strengthen your collection. Moreover, as they are cards that can be used in the Modern Ranked format, they can represent a competitive advantage in the medium and long term without the need for investment.
I think it's quite a long process, but it's practically the only way to get cards to upgrade the cards in that set.
Para los jugadores experimentados, Frontier quizás no sea el modo más atractivo en términos de desafío. Sin embargo, ofrece un incentivo interesante para quienes disponen de bastante tiempo: las recompensas.
Estas recompensas consisten en cartas aleatorias del set Foundation, lo que permite mejorar copias existentes y fortalecer la colección. Además, al ser cartas utilizables en el formato Modern Ranked, pueden representar una ventaja competitiva a mediano y largo plazo sin necesidad de inversión.
Creo que es un proceso bastante largo, pero practicamente es la única forma de obtener cartas para poder mejorar las de ese set.
I played my first games and had a pretty acceptable performance, without thinking much about a strategy, I was able to win 5 out of 12 games, which allowed me to redeem my first reward, which until now I didn't know what it was.
I obtained a common rarity card called Frankarsgard. Although its basic stats point to being a tank, it has several disadvantages: it is slow, it has no abilities and its damage is low, which makes it quite bad to use in the ranked format.
Jugué mis primeras partidas y tuve un desempeño bastante aceptable, sin pensar mucho una estrategia, pude ganar 5 de un total de 12 partidas, lo que me permitió canjear mi primera recompensa.
Obtuve una carta de rareza común llamada Frankarsgard. Aunque sus estadísticas básicas apuntan a ser un tanque, tiene varias desventajas: es lenta, no tiene habilidades y su daño es bajo, lo que la hace bastante mala para usar en el formato ranked.
I didn't have much more time to play, taking into account that I had other commitments and I also had to play Modern Ranked because I was accumulating the maximum energy and it would be wasting the investment I made to have a competitive deck this season.
So I tried to play a few more games, while doing other things and not planning much strategy. Really, I was trying to get another winning streak out of pure luck.
Luckily, after quite a few attempts and burned energy, I managed to draw my second and last card thanks to this mode.
No tenia mucho más tiempo para jugar, teniendo en cuenta que tenia otros compromisos y también tenia que jugar a Modern Ranked porque se me acumulaba el máximo de energia y seria desaprovechar la inversión que hice para tener un mazo competitivo esta temporada.
Asi que intenté jugar unas partidas más, mientras hacia otras cosas y sin planificar mucho la estrategia. Realmente, intentaba sacar otra racha de victorias por pura suerte.
Por suerte, luego de bastantes intentos y energia quemada, logré sacar mi segunda y ultima carta gracias a este modo.
Grand Consul Minion is a pretty decent card, thanks to its low mana cost and ranged attack. But it requires a few levels to be able to be used at competitive level.
The new Frontier mode is excellent for new players to get used to the game mechanics without having to make a considerable investment. However, I think that for experienced players, the benefit of this mode is perceived in the long run, and I don't think it is worth investing so much time just to get a common card from this set.
Most likely, I won't play it again for a while. Besides, in the last updates, they added that the cards used in Survival Mode can be used in other modes, which would invite me to play it again and where I would get much more benefits.
Grand Consul Minion es una carta bastante decente, gracias a su costé de mana bajo y ataque a distancia. Pero requiere unos cuantos niveles, para poder ser utilizada en nivel competitivo.
El nuevo modo Frontier es excelente para que los nuevos jugadores se puedan acostumbrar a las mecanicas del juego, sin tener que hacer una inversión considerable. Sin embargo, considero que para jugadores experimentados, el beneficio de este modo se percibe a muy largo plazo, y no creo que valga la pena invertir tanto tiempo solo para obtener una carta común de este set.
Lo más probable, es que por un tiempo no vuelva a jugarlo. Además, de que en las ultimas actualizaciones, agregaron que las cartas usadas en el Modo Survival pueden ser usadas en otros modos, lo que me invitaria a jugarlo nuevamente y dónde obtendria mucho más beneficios.
