There’s a lot of discussion around the current governance vote, and understandably so. People are passionate. Many have invested time, energy, and real capital into this project — and they’re right to care about stability, fairness, and the future.
But before we rush to draw conclusions, I’d like to invite everyone to step back and consider the bigger picture.
Dave and the Team Are Building and upgrading an Ecosystem
Dave and the team aren’t just tweaking a game. They’re building an ecosystem.
What we’ve seen over the past months — from the structure of the Foundations Set, to the pacing of updates, to the onboarding redesign — is all part of a coherent long-term strategy.
A strategy aimed at making the game healthier, more scalable, and better for both new and veteran players.
And let’s be honest: most of us don’t have access to the full plan. But Dave and the team do — and they’ve consistently shown they’re thinking further ahead than just the next proposal or patch.
Where I Stand
I voted in favor of the proposal — not because I want to go backwards, but because I believe we need a better progression system in Ranked that fits with the current state of the game.
Right now, new players complete Frontier Mode and are dropped into Ranked Bronze, where they might immediately face maxed-out decks. It’s demoralizing.
Many leave before they’ve had the chance to enjoy the game or even consider investing. That’s a broken onboarding path — and it doesn’t help anyone.
What I Support Is a New League Structure
❌ Not a return to the past
âś… A smart ladder system that gives players clear goals
âś… One that fits within the vision and architecture the team is building
This proposal, in my view, is an opportunity to start that conversation seriously — and get closer to a Ranked experience that works for all.
How We Should Approach This Vote
We debate. We engage. We voice our views. But we also avoid panic and polarization.
This isn’t a matter of “yes” or “no” being the definitive answer. It’s part of a broader dialogue — and a useful signal to the team.
Whether the proposal passes or fails, what truly matters is that it:
Reflects real concerns and constructive ideas
Helps shape the roadmap ahead
Keeps us focused on collective growth
The Key: Alignment With the Long-Term Vision and not derailing from it or put on the devs excessive further work
If a change supports what Dave and the team are building, it’s worth considering.
If it risks derailing that work, it’s okay to pause.
But that call has to come from those who see the full board — not just the next move.
I trust Dave and the team. I believe in the direction they’re taking us.
Let’s give them the space, the feedback, and the trust to lead — together.
