Spoilt for choice
There are so many tokens and coins out now, how is any token better then the next? Anyone who has been around for awhile will tell you that a token or coin needs to have a use case and/or a sink to help hold it's value.
Most coins and tokens are great to use on the blockchain and app that they are on but as people fill their pockets of these tokens the price drops off. SPS may have a solution to this with token leasing.
What is SPS?
For those not already playing Splinterlands SPS is the games governance token. Staking this token gives you voting power for proposals on the game. SPS can also be used to enter tournaments and card packs. SPS is also needed to get increased rewards in the game. SPS will also have a part to play in land once it is released.
Why is SPS different?
As you can see SPS is very important for the game but how does this make it any different to any other token? The difference that I am excited about is the leasing out of the token. Not only does this token give you all the benefits I said before but by staking it you gain the ability/option to lease it out and therefore the ability to earn DEC(another in-game token) for free. That's right you can earn money for loaning it to other players on the market.
As you can see in the image above there are plenty of people looking to rent your spare SPS.
And as you can see in the image below renting out just 700 SPS here earnt me 23 DEC.
Conclusion
With all of this in mind I feel like SPS is undervalued and has the potential to be priced a lot higher. If Splinterlands goes through another bull run SPS will be in high demand just so people can earn maximum rewards if nothing else. Supply will likely dry up and and the price will increase . This could also lead to more people leasing SPS rather then buying as they may not have the money to buy it outright off the market. This in turn could lead to a snow ball effect where the rental market also gets pushed up in price. I know this all requires a bull run but it has happened before when chaos legion launched. We have already seen the community show support for the presale so it is defiantly not hard to believe that it could happen again.
