Hello Everyone,
Its Your's truly again posting my fan art for Splinterlands Art Contest Week 183. So for this week I decided to create a cartoon style again but mixed with full background illustration.
Reference
I used "Quix the Devious" card as my Reference. you ask why? its because its my one and only owned legendary card as of now. XD
Process
Here let me show you the process.
Actually there are 2 parts for this art process, 1st was Quix himself and the 2nd one is the background. I have done the character and the backround apart since I initially dont plan on putting illustrated backround at first. But upon doing it later on I decided to do so.
Drawing
My art always starts with a drawing on a paper canvas.
Outline
Once the drawing was done, we just need to put it into Adobe Photoshop to do the digital art process. so first we need to trace the initial drawing for outlines.
Flat Colors
Next step would be coloring the design with flat colors, I used bluer atmosphere for the background since based on Quix's lore, he first lived inside the chaos realm and it also says that he was hunting dragon so he can summon them afterwards. So thats my basis for creating my background illustration.
Shading
For shading I used the "3-step shading" which you will start with the biggest shapes first and proceeds doing smaller and smaller ones.
Bigsized Shaped
Basically you just shading the design as a whole shaped.
Mediumsized Shaped
Here you differentiate every details that you see as individual shapes like head, torso, arms, legs and etc. and youre going to be shading them one by one.
Smallsized Shaped
And Lastly you will going to shade all the remaining tiny details.
HighLight
Next step would be the higlights, the one and only light source I used was the moonlight.
Final Touches
After doing all the previous steps on both illustration, now is the time to put them together (1), I also add some additional highlights on Quix and shadow of him on the background (2) and lastly my signature and oh I also add a shadow of windeku on the background because why not. XD
Output.
And that's sums up all of my process, Hope you like my fan art.
Please do spare some time checking my previos work.
