Disclaimer: I do not own Beatrix Ironhand and isn't in the starter deck. But I am able to use and play using the new card rental system in the in-game shop and sometimes in peakmonsters. This shows that SPLINTERLANDS can be forgiving to those new and starting to play the game. Support SPLINTERLANDS for more content to come.
I rented Beatrix Ironhand for 3 days to test her out and so that it coincide to the season ends. I like to do this because I want the next season to be a clean slate for more shenanigans and strategy I may or may not copy from others to win me more games.
Based on the SPLINTERLORE, Beatrix Ironhand is a princess. This is mind boggling because when you first look ate her she is more a warrior ninja than a royalty. Even her ability(I will tell you more about this later), Close Ranger is designed for warriors and frontliners. She is one of a kind, even if she is a royalty detests being called a princess but takes her position very seriously. She trained day and night, and when there is a battle she leads her troops, the Maglarian Defense Force into battle. Her weapon is called a boomerangs and is used to catch unruly mountain goats and other small creatures. But after the goblin invasion this changes and became a deadly weapon history will right about. Her weapon looks like a tool ninja would use like in Naruto but this version looks sick, it has spikes and stuff that I wonder how can she use that and when she throws it, how can she catch that health hazard of a weapon.
Abilities
Beatrix has 1 abilty in her first level and 3 on her final level. This is the first time I saw a three ability monster. Sadly, I will only use 1, the Close Range ability because the rent is pretty pricey for level 6 card and also an Epic rarity.
Monsters with the Close Range ability can perform ranged attacks from the first position.
When hit with a Melee attack, does (2 melee) damage back to the attacker.
Each time an enemy is hit by a Monster with Cripple it loses one max health. If crippled monster is cleansed, it will recover 1 health for every time it has been crippled since the last cleanse.
Strategy
I will use Beatrix Ironhand to my usual setup when using Earth Splinters. Because of her ability that can attack even close range called Close Range she can be positioned near the front. The battle I will be showing is in Gold league but my playstyle is still trash so you can give me some tips that i did wrong. By the way the rewards in high gold is amazing 90-100 DEC every win.
Battle Lineup
1st game
Summoner
I used Llama in this lineup because I really want to win. The combo Llama kron is amazing but it isn't invincible. The Llama have 3 ability it gives 2 health, give the ability last stand, and clean, removing all negative effects.
Lineup
This is for me one of the best monster ever for me. Flesh golem is amazing because it can heal itself ( the one I'm using is level 3) pair it with a healer then it become op combo. i personally use this using Mylor so I can say to the enemy why are you hitting yourself.
Goblin thief is a very useful because it can target the back. So if the enemy didn't anticipate you having a sneak monster you can destroy the whole enemies flank.
This is the challenge Beatrix Ironhand. I don't know where to use her but because she has the ability close range she can be place sort of in the front. The interseting part here is that she is the first one to die in this battle.
Wood Nymp is very useful card. She can heal the tank indefinitely. So pair her to a flesh golem to make an op combination. The flesh golem will heal itself and the Wood Nymp will also heal it.
I don't really know why I used Khmer Princess but she can give magic damage so it can be useful. Because magic don't hit armor and directly affect the health this is very useful.
KRON THE FREAKING UNDYING is soooo good. He is not invincible but when parried with Llama you will get a super powerful combination. He is not overpowered or a sure win but in the right circumstance he can win you a lot of battle.
The game starts fairly normal. I used mostly magic in my lineup so it can be amazing dealing true damage to the enemy. Gelatin cube is also an amazing monster and tank and I think in higher level it can also heal itself but my flesh golem is still the best and pair it with the wood nymph it can be a deadly combination. The unusual part is that Beatrix the one who died first. She is targeted by the snipe. If anyone know how snipe work you can comment down below. This is unusual because there is the wood nymph that can be snipe first but they chose Beatrix first...very unusual. I think this gameplay is overkill with Llama kron and all but I need to progress the game so I'm sorry for abusing llama kron.
In conclusion, Beatrix can be useful and if I get the card I'll be grateful but she isn't fit to my playstyle of magic. Her ability can be very useful, she can be in the second lane supporting your team when the tank is breached because she can play even in the frontlines. Her story is amazing like a feminist but not does obnoxious ones. A princess warrior that doesn't let her royal blood get the way of being a good warrior. All in all, I can see myself using her when the rules set prohibits me for using magic.
