In the Splinterlands game, one of the keys to getting lots of wins is to level up the cards/units/monsters that we have. We can increase the level of our cards by combining them. By expanding the card level, you can not only increase the stats of the card unit (health, armor, speed, or damage) but can also provide new abilities. Here we will discuss the steps to combine cards efficiently, which cards we should prioritize, and how to get additional cards to level up.
How to Level Up Cards in Splinterlands
- Collect the same cards as the cards we want to level up.
- Select the cards we want to combine. If we have several of the same cards, we will be given the option to combine the cards as in the example below:
- Press the Combine Card button then the image below appears and press the combine button, and the card will change to level 2 like the image and its stats increase to 10 health, then the cards used in the combination will disappear :
Benefits of Leveling Up Cards in Splinterlands
- Increase Stats and add new Abilities
When a card levels up, health, damage, speed, or armor can also increase. With cards that have a higher level, you can increase your ability to survive or increase attacks to kill enemies as in the example below :
you can see the difference in stats between level 1, level 6 and level 10, when you reach level 6 the Pelacor Mercenary gets the additional ability Heal (each round will restore a certain amount of health from this unit) and when you reach level 10 you get another additional ability, namely Retaliate (when you get a melee attack, there is a chance of 50% to counterattack) - Increases the power of the card

To move up to a higher League to get bigger prizes, besides we need to win the battles we do, we also need certain power, like the example in the picture below. If we want to go up to Bronze II, we need 1000 CP (Collection Power) :
Tips for leveling up cards
- Focus on Summoner
First, make sure the level of the summoner we have supports the level of the card we are going to raise. As in the example in the picture below, at level 2 the summoner Kelya Frendul can make maximum use of cards with levels common 3, rare 2, epic 2 and Legendary 1 :
So focus first on the leveling summoner level if it's not enough, - The units we use most often
After that we can start focusing on the units that are most widely used as tankers such as Pelacor Conjurer, Baakjira, etc., also favorite attack units such as Pelacor Bandit, Uraeus, Celestial Harpy, etc. - Make sure to level up our units to the maximum according to the league where we are fighting to get maximum results before moving up to the top league. For example, the Silver League requires a unit level with a common rarity of 5, Rare 4, Epic 3 and Legendary 2:
Strategies for Collecting Additional Cards to Increase The Card Level
- Buy a card pack :
- Get prizes from ranked battles in the form of chests when we move up the league/rank, which can contain reward cards :
- Buy at the Glint shop (Reward cards) cards based on rarity type and get a random card type (we have to buy lots of draw cards to get the card we want):
- Get/buy from other players.
- Buy at Peakmonsters or in the game (click Market at the top left then select Card Sales. Select the card we want then check the card and click Buy) :
