Hello there, this is my entry to the latest "Battle Mage Secret Weekly Challenge!". If you want to participate or learn more about the challenge, click here. This week we have to formulate a strategy with the Aim True ruleset.

RULESET: Aim True
With the Aim True ruleset in action, Melee and Ranged attacks will always hit their target. Even applies to the Mages with Phase ability.

This ruleset is simple and easy to understand as all the attacks will not have a missed chance and every attack will hit regardless of the speed differences between the attacker and receiver. This just blunts the speed dominance which is an important stat on any unit. The speed stat will still determine the order of attack so it is still useful but not as much as it is without this ruleset.
Let's see how this ruleset affects my lineup and how I strategies for the following battle.

My Lineup
This is my lineup for the battle
This was a whooping 45-mana cap battle in a brawl and had the following rulesets:
- Melee Mayhem: Melee attack monsters can attack from any position.
- Aim True: Attacks always hit their target.
- Born Again: All Monsters have the rebirth ability.
All elements except Fire were active during this battle. I went with Earth and chose Lobb Lowland as my summoner which allowed me to use an extra Gladiator card and increased the speed of all friendly units by 1 at the expense of 6 mana.

I used the Venari Marksrat in the first position. It comes with the 'martyr' ability which combined with the Rebirth ruleset can be very effective and increase the strength of my next unit in the lineup. This unit's job was just to die and sacrifice itself to make the next one better.
And to utilize that 'martyr' ability I placed the Grund in the second position. It already came with 3 melee damage and deals two strikes back to back in the same round so having more attacking strength and health was a great blessing.
Another heavy hitter and defender in my lineup was the Endless Ape. It costs 8 mana but deals a good amount of melee damage and comes with huge health. It justifies its name and can last for a long time during the battle because the 'Scavenger' ability keeps increasing its max health by 1.
I needed a good healer in my lineup and Goblin Psychic was a good candidate for this. Its 'tank heal' ability and a decent amount of magic attack damage are easily worth the 6 mana cost that it comes in. The only downside is its somewhat lower health and that's why I put it right in the middle of my lineup.
Katrelba Gobson was the first gladiator unit in my lineup. It comes at the cost of 6 mana and can be very dangerous for the enemy lineup. Dealing 2 melee attack damage with 'sneak' and 'Double Strike' makes it so lethal. You will see that it was the MVP of this battle.
I placed the Palidon Rakk in the last position. It was a gladiator unit for which I used my summoner. This comes with a bloodlust ability that increases its stats every time it defeats a unit. Once it gets going it can be very difficult to stop. It costs 7 mana and deals 3 melee attack damage and has a good amount of health to start with.
Now that my lineup is set let's talk about my strategy for this game.

My Strategy
The 'Aim True' ruleset is an easy one for me. Mostly because there are fewer things to worry about in this ruleset and all the units are active to choose from. So, there can be many strategies but since there were two other rulesets and both favoured an attacking lineup with melee attackers I used the same.
I used a couple of gladiator units which increased in strength as the battle stretched out. I used the 'martyr' ability to my advantage and increased the strength of my tank. I focused mostly on the fundamentals and even supported my tanks with tank heal provided by the Goblin Psychic.

I will share my battle here, which I have uploaded to YouTube. Battle Link

My opponent went with a more magic damage-oriented lineup and used the Obsidian as their summoner and also used the Endless Ape towards the front line which can be a tough unit to eliminate, especially with a couple of healers. At the start of the battle, it looked dead even to me.
But as the battle began and I took advantage of the rebirth ability and buffed my Grund it became a beast and did a lot of damage right at the start of the battle.
It was a long first round and I had the advantage after it. My gladiator cards did well in the second round and got buffed even more while the Grund at the start of the lineup still took a lot of hits and stood there.
It was only in the third round that my opponent was able to eliminate my Grund which had already done the best it could.
They still had Quora but it didn't matter much as I had a lot of attacking strength left and my gladiator units performed exceptionally well. Healer did a good job too and it only took 5 rounds to win this one. It was an easy win at the end which looked like a tough win just at the start.

Conclusion
Aim True ruleset is an easy-to-understand one, as the units cannot miss their attacks and the speed of the units becomes a little less concern. Still having good speed to get the first attack advantage is sometimes a huge thing. But as you saw in the above battle. I just used the rulesets to my advantage and went back to the fundamentals of the game.
Using strong tanks at the front of the lineup, and giving them support by using a healer that can heal the front line is always a good strategy not during this ruleset. Also, taking advantage of abilities like bloodlust and double strike can be a good strategy. In the end, there can be so many strategies with this simpler ruleset, just see what you have in your arsenal and try to come up with the best strategy.
Let me know what your strategy is with this ruleset.
