My Splinterlands Journey!

An Accidental Find

It was just a happy coincidence, that in 2021 during this same month of November when crypto games were booming, I went to the Google search bar and typed "the best crypto-related games" and believe it or not Splinterlands came in the top.

It sparked my interest and then I watched a few YouTube videos of the game and it looked nice! I made this account knowing nothing about the underlying blockchain and that's how my accidental journey began here. Around that time, the talks were all about the upcoming Chaos Legion sale.

I played a lot of games in my early stage where I was still learning the ins and outs of the game. All the cards have different abilities. Once the Chaos Legion edition dropped many new cards came with their own unique abilities and new rulesets which made it even more interesting.

I have made a lot of friends just because of this game and the underlying blockchain community. So, I have a lot to thank to Splinterlands.

Advice for Beginners

My advice for beginners would be to go slow and read about all the FAQs and learn abilities. One of the most underrated aspects of the game is the 'challenge' feature. If you have a friend who plays the game just utilize this challenge feature and play a lot of games and try to see what works and what doesn't. It can sometimes be discouraging to lose in ranked matches, especially when you are starting. So, practice as much as you can.

Watching some YouTube tutorials helps a lot, I watched a few of them and that's how I learned some of the basics. Try to build a deck over time with cards that you are most comfortable with.

It would be a lie to say that I have achieved all that I thought of achieving in the game, I played in mostly silver and sometimes gold leagues but it gets competitive in the bigger leagues and the rewards are great. My focus right now is to help my Guild get stronger so I tend to take my brawls very seriously, even though I mostly suck at the game...lol

My Goals and Accomplishments

I have participated in only a few tournaments till now and I want to change it. So my goal is to get better and confident and participate in more events and tournaments organised by the community. I have been shying away from them for so long. Also, I have an SPS goal of 25000 staked SPS goal which might take some time.

I have been holding onto some Chaos Legion packs too, and will rip them open after the Rebellion Packs along with some of those!

I started creating splinterlands content after a month or two of playing it. I used to take part in the Art contest and it has allowed me to become a lot better in digital paintings I learned a few tricks and tips which are going to help me throughout my life. Who could have thought a blockchain game would help you improve digital art? And not just art my writing has improved too. And it was all the perks of getting into a game like Splinteralands!

This has been some journey and I look forward to the coming days! Thanks to all the people who helped me in this journey, they are too many to be named here.
