Time flies! Just completed the 49th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!
- Fun In The Discord Chats
Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.
- Staying In Bronze Fray
For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.
Had 4 battles this time and it was not an easy round. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.
- We Got 1st!!!
So for the final result, we got 1st out of 10 guilds and got 862 Merits and around 15 SPS! That's back to back champions for the guild! Woohoo!
Individually, I had 4 fights this time and I was brought back to the ground after an impressive run. Only managed to win once and finished 9th in my guild. So all credit to my guild members!
Let's jump into the battles!
Battle 1 - LOSE
Gladius Card Used: Sola Ranjell
I wasn't allowed to use my favourite Water lineup but I thought I have put out a formidable Life lineup. However, I had an incredible amount of misses against their Flying tank and my team was wiped out by the opposing Pelacor Arbalest after a few rounds. There goes Sola Ranjell's 100% win rate.
MVP: None
Battle 2 - LOSE
Gladius Card Used: Sola Ranjell
Once again, no Water lineups allowed!? Once again my Life lineup fell short as Sola Ranjell wasn't able to get any Bloodlust and I was eventually outmuscled with the higher levelled cards on the opposite end.
MVP: None
Battle 3 - LOSE
Gladius Card Used: Gorth
What? No Water lineups allowed again? There was no way my deck would be able to deal with this deck, the Legendary Gladius card on the opposing end was too overpowered and she dominated the entire battle with her hits.
MVP: None
Battle 4 - WIN
Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick
The game seemed to be out to get me - no Water lineups allowed for all 4 my battles! This battle was extremely close and I won with just 1 card left. Facing 2 Legendary cards on the opposite team was not easy at all, but Earthquake saved me big time! Brighton Bloom is still rocking such battles!
MVP: Brighton Bloom
So that sums up my 4 battles for this brawl! A 25% win rate only, but my "excuse" is that Water lineups were weirdly excluded in all my fights. Hopefully I get a chance to use Water more often next brawl because that's where all my strong cards are at!
Review Of Gladius Cards
Since I am able to use Gladius cards now, I thought I should review selected cards that helped me win in the brawls. Congratulations to Alfredo for winning one of the battles in the earlier brawls! Of course, please let me know if you have any tips in using these cards too as I am keen to learn and improve too!
CARD: ALFREDO
ELEMENT: WATER
RARITY: RARE
ABILITY: BLOODLUST
For a 2 mana card, it's really hard to expect much. Because he has Bloodlust, he is a good substitute for Igor Darkspear and acts as a filler card whenever I have space for 2 mana. Putting Alfredo at the last position seems to be the best way to play, to protect the backline from Sneak attacks and to have the most time to get the Bloodlust.
