A great day to all Hivers and fans of Splinterlands!
It took me a while to write the report of what happened to my family’s accounts last season. Time is so fast. Only 7 days and 5 hours are left with the current season. Last season is our 17th and the current one is our 18th. Comparing the two seasons so far, I find the daily quest rewards of last season higher and more inspiring.
In this post, I just want to share our daily quest rewards, end-of-season rewards, SPS price movement, and the current status of my family’s accounts.
Significant Daily Quest Rewards in the Silver III League
So far, I already completed 5 daily quests in the Silver III level, but the rewards are mostly potions and common cards. Unlike last season, these are the rewards that I received for at least seven daily quests:
Daily Quest Reward 1
Daily Quest Reward 2
Daily Quest Reward 3
Daily Quest Reward 4
Daily Quest Reward 5
Daily Quest Reward 6
It’s actually my first time to receive a CL pack in a daily quest reward.
Daily Quest Reward 7
All in all, I received 1 Chaos Legion pack, 316 DEC, 9 common cards, 1 gold common card, 1 Alchemy Potion, 1 rare card, and 2 epic cards. If you will sum them all up into DEC, the total DEC added to my account during the 17th season was 706.
As for my family’s daily quest rewards, there is nothing significant except for one daily quest reward received by my youngest son, axietrashgame. He is playing at Bronze II level, and he received a rare Venari Bonesmith. Its DEC value is 20.
End of Season Rewards
Likewise, as the season ended, only my second son’s account, kopiko-blanca received a significant reward:
He received 1 epic card, 2 common cards, 3 legendary potions, and 23 credits.
As for my youngest son and my wife, almost all credits and potions plus 1 common card:
arlenec2021
axietrashgame
Unlike the 16th season, my EOS reward last 17th season is also not that impressive:
4 common cards, 3 alchemy potions, and a total of 48 DEC.
SPS Price Action
As I shared last week, since the release of the update concerning the validator node software, SPS price action seems to have already found its floor price. After touching 0.0957, it bounced to almost 0.14, a 46.29% price appreciation. I am anticipating that the gradual transition in price direction will continue and we might expect a rally beginning last week of June until July.
The 4th quarter will be an interesting one. We will see how the market will respond to the mainnet planned launch and the forthcoming sale of validator node licenses.
As you can see from its chart, after a short bull run, the price now is consolidating and forming a higher base. In technical analysis, they describe such price action in different ways, and one of them is the formation of a bullish flag.
Update of My Family’s Gaming Accounts
The price decline of cards has been going on for several seasons now. I suspect that by now, players who are in this game for quick gain have already given up. Imagine despite the consistent increase in collection power, the value of the cards is going the opposite way. My collection power increased 2.84% from 16,870 to 17,350 but the value of my cards declined by 10.75% from $148.81 down to $132.80.
As for my second son’s account, his collection power increased 7.98% from 5,325 to 5,750 but the value of his cards dropped by 9.99% from $27.51 to $24.76.
My wife’s account suffered the biggest loss. Her collection power appreciated by 3.06% but the value of her account declined by 19.72% from $7.35 to just $5.90.
Only my youngest son’s account has a positive yield. Both his collection power and card value increased. His collection power improved by 33.33% and his card value by 8.15%.
Conclusion
My expectation during the end of the 16th season that my youngest son’s account will reach Bronze I did not materialize. I think if I will just keep the minimum requirement to qualify for Silver III and give the extra power to axietrashgame plus the extra 750 points from kopiko-blanca, my youngest son’s account can easily reach Bronze I. However, I decided not to do it at this time.
Though the overall performance of our accounts is not so impressive, the important thing, for now, is that we continually grow our collection power. In playing Splinterlands, the current price decline is actually an opportunity for those who see the long-term prospects of the game. Now is not that time to abandon the game, but a time to build and grow one’s account. Bearish trends don’t last forever.
