Another season of Splinterlands has come to an end and again despite my best efforts I could not advance beyond Diamond III League. Win rate was again similar to last season around 55-60% and my total Glint earned this season was also similar to last season at 16K Glint.
I have been regularly using Glint and SPS earned during the seasons to invest in new cards and making my portfolio stronger but I can feel that the competition is also getting stronger with each season and more and more players are joining the Splinterlands fraternity.
My weak points in the card collection are Dragon and Death element summoners. These are also quite expensive in the market at the moment but hopefully I plan to level up my summoners in the coming seasons.
How Did I use my Glint?
Usually I spend most of my Glint in the shop on picking up few Ultimate chests and Major chests and keep a bit aside to purchase some Merits which I can use to pick up a few extra Gladius packs.
I have noticed during the last few seasons that many of my Ultimate chests will also give potions which are of no use to me as I already have big piles of them and they can’t be sold in the market. Considering that Ultimate chests are quite expensive at 4,500 Glint I decided to tweak my strategy and buy 2 Epic Draws as I think there are many great Epic cards which I still don’t have and getting a guaranteed Epic card is worth the extra Glint I will have to spend.
I think going with the strategy of pulling the Epic Draws worked out in my favour as I got 2 Night Reapers. I didn’t have one and knew how powerful this card is specially against Flying ability cards. This Epic card becomes most dangerous in the Earthquake ruleset when every player places their best cards with flying ability. Then Night Reaper with it’s Windbreaker ability wrecks havoc on all the flying beasts. I have suffered at it’s hands in many fights and am glad now I too have a copy of it.
The challenge now is to collect more of it to level it up so it gets the Deflect power as well. I will also need to level up my Dragon summoners so I can use it effectively.
Wood Worksite Ready to Harvest!
Looking at my land plots, I just noticed that my Wood worksite is ready to harvest and I will need to spend about 4,200 Grain to claim 2,200 Wood. I did a quick check and found that the price of the Grain I will have to spend is the same as the Grain I will get. Which means I need to stop this worksite immediately and get some cards with higher production power here else I will keep running a loss. The challenge is that most of my Untamed Legendaries are already busy in my Grain production site. I wonder how other players are managing as I have realised that if you don’t have a lot of high power cards your sites will not be profitable.
