After a long time I have started playing Splinterlands regularly on a daily basis. This is largely due to high level of activity I see across the community. More users are coming in, more OG users are posting and creating content regularly, more features are being rolled out at break neck speed. This pumps up the whole community to put in their best.
I usually reach Gold I League during the second half of the season and then I am able to move into Diamond III when just a few days are left in the season.
This time I managed to move into Gold I League within a few days into the season. I will try my best to get into Diamond III before the first week of this season gets over. Usually I get stuck in Diamond III and have not been able to move into Diamond II since many months but I feel this time I might be able to get lucky.
What is my Strategy for Moving into Gold I League!
As you can see in the play history below, as long as I am able to pick Water and Life elements I am able to maintain long winning streaks. I have been playing with Water element for so long that I don’t need 3 mins to plan out my team, as soon as I see the battle conditions and the Mana limit I instantly know which cards I need to place and in which order.
This strategy keeps me going with a good win rate till I move into Gold I. After This for Diamond III, I need to plan more and be prepared for the losses here and there as my opponents generally will have Legendary summoners and cards, specially from Rebellion set which is a weak spot for me.
I am going to wait a bit for grasping in the new Land expansion and the next Arcana collection to figure out how much I will be spending on getting new cards.
Another decision I will soon have to make is that with Chaos moving out from Modern into Wild maintaining a good winning streak will be difficult for me in Modern as my strongest collection is from Chaos and I did not level up most of my Rebellion cards which will make them weak at higher Leagues.
How Were the Gold I Rewards Chests?
From my recent experience I have seen that Gold III and Gold II rewards are not so good anymore and are mostly potions with a few credits thrown around. Gold I rewards till recently still used to be good but I was proved wrong this season.
When I opened the chests I saw that just 2 of them had cards and the rest were just potions and credits. The only saving grace was that the amount of credits I got was decent enough to help me open a Gladius pack.
I really hope the next set of rewards I get from Diamond III League unlocking are worth the grind. I really want to expand my Legendary and Epic collection in the reward cards.
Getting Lucky with the Gladius Pack!!
I was pleasantly surprised with the Gladius pack as it had a GoldFoil Chimney Wallstop and I was able to upgrade him to level 4 as I already had a gold foil.
I also got one of my favourites - Captain Katie. I was able to upgrade it to level 3 after a long wait.
I am glad that even if the League unlocking rewards are not that great I am still able to upgrade my Gladiator collection.
