Splinterlands Intro
Here in splinterlands we see the beautiful harmony of fun and competetive experience and income. But despite the good income potential of the game, many players struggle in their matchmaking experience. I mean, the common ideology is that "Like all other card games, the better your cards, the higher the probability to win." But, I speak otherwise...
Intro to Leagues
So, just recently, the new update states that Ranked Battles have new reward system. Basically, the DEC you earn for every win is now based on your current league. Unlike before when it was based on your rating.
Intro to the Hot-Spot league
Ah, my favorite league, the Gold league. Allow me to explain why I am strongly convinced that the Gold league is the hotspot league in context to average minimal investors. (My rental budget for this was 700-1000 DEC) You earn a reasonable amount of DEC per win, the meta there is perfect for our Water Splinter Strategy. So, if you're a player who can't afford to buy decent cards to stay in the higher leagues and you just rent your way up to ROI, then this is the post for you.
So, let's get right into the point of this point. Water Splinter! Specifically the Summoner Bortus.
Why Bortus you say? It is because magic users are very common in the Gold league and this Summoner is designed to obliterate magic decks. And the reason why water splinter is very ideal here is because of it's OP defensive abilities.
The Strategy
So, the strategy is not play offensive. In a world full of offensive players, we want to be the immovable object. And water splinter is stacked with healers.
And not just that...
AAaaaaand not just that... the last pieces are:
Okay okay, allow me to explain. Here's the strategy. You have a very bulky tank with a Taunt(You don't have to worry about those pesky sneak, snipe and opportunity) and this tank also has Demoralize which is basically a -1 melee damage to all enemies. Imagine that bulky tank has 3 healers behind it, completely safe from assassins. That is OP. Now, the only counter to it is affliction which disables healing. BUT, we have Kelp Initiate here that cleanses your tank so your healers can constantly heal your tank. So, you have basically created an immovable tank. (See figure below)
And you can experiment on it depending on the mana cap. Kelp Initiate can be your tank in low mana caps with Albatross as your healer and Crustacean King as secondary healer. Then you can use Ruler of the seas as your main damage.
I confidently say to you, that as long as Water Splinter is available, and that healing is allowed, then you are almost guaranteed to win. Based on my experience, given the right conditions (rules), I get 80% win-rate with this sick strat.
What are the cons of this strategy? well, this strategy is a DEC Capture rate burner. You'd have to rent for the deck for one (1) day and spend all your ECR in one day then rest for 4 days to regen it back. It is cheap and effective but it is non-ECR friendly. But, I personally counter this by having 4 accounts. Drain the ECR of account 1 as close to 0% then the next day drain account 2 all the way to account 4 and right after you finish with account 4, your account 1 will be back to 100% ECR. So the cycle never ends. (See figure below)
Following this strat, you basically grind everyday and get those juicy DEC from the ranked the battles. I hope this helps you. You can PM me or comment below if you have any follow-up questions, I will try to be as responsive as possible.
If this post helps you, please react as it would help me (the author) greatly.
