Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
Ranked Battle is the core gameplay of Splinterlands as a card game. This is where players clash with each other in real-time, playing their best line-up and strategy, using the cards that they own or have rented. And for the player that would win that battle, not only would they gain an increase in rating, but they would also be awarded with token rewards that have monetary value, which is what separates it from other card games. With the way it is distributed though, the rewards that a player earns can vary. However, there are ways that we can use in order to increase the rewards we get when we win our battles.
And so, for this week's Community Engagement Challenge, allow me to share with you the ways that can help to increase your battle rewards, whether you are new to the game or a returning player, so that we can all #teachandtriamph.
Ranked Rewards
By prevailing in your battles, not only you will get an increase in your rating. You will also received SPS and Glint which has different use case, but technically, this two tokens can be exchanged for something of different value that the player may want.
First, we have the Glint
, which is a soulbound token, meaning that only the player who owns it is the only one that can use it, but that also means that the only way to obtain it is through playing battles. Currently, the main use of glint is to purchase items on Gwen's Glint Shop, which solds Soulbound Rewards, resources like Energy and Potions, as well as exclusive items such as Titles.
The next token that a player gets upon winning the battle was the Splintershards (SPS)
, which unlike Glint is tradeable for other tokens and can be burn in exchange of Darke Energy Crystals (DEC). It also serves as the Only Governance token of Splinterlands that decides whether DAO proposal passes or not.
The way that a player earns these rewards can vary because all the players in each format get their rewards from a single pool, meaning the more players that play the battle, the less the amount of rewards each player can earn as the season progresses, while fewer players means more rewards. With that being said, there are steps by which we could increase the amount of SPS we get from winning battles.
Simple Ways To Increase Battle Rewards
There are multiple ways by which a player can increase their battle rewards. Some are applied effectively before you start your match while some will only apply under certain conditions.
♦️ Play On Modern
Currently, Splinterlands now has 4 battle formats by which players can participate, but when we are thinking of token rewards, the best option is to play Modern Format. In Modern, you do not need to pay for a season pass which is required in Wild and immediately reduce your earnings and you do not need to fear of your cards having cooldown like in Survival mode.
♦️ Increase Your SPS Staked
The biggest factor that determines how much a player can earn in each battle is through their staked SPS. Each league in ranked battles has a reward modifier that bases how much a player earns based on their staked SPS. To get an idea on how much SPS you may need for your league, here is a table below.
I'd say, between 8x-10x gives a decent reward, specially in the league that I am playing, but it would not hurt to have more. And if you don't have the budget to stake more SPS, you can just rent some until you have enough. Meanwhile, the SPS requirement on Wild is double of the requirement in Modern.
♦️Guild Bonus
Aside from getting merits and SPS from winning brawls, another upside of joining a guild is that they give you additional bonus on your ranked battles. The amount of bonus a player get defends on the level of the guild, but it can go up to 20%.
♦️ Prefix Titles
For player who owns a certain amount of land as well as for those that has the required amount of resources, they are given Prefix Titles that can be seen next to their player name when they were battling. This titles were more than just decoration, because they give reward boost in ranked battle though, it will be lost if the player does not meet the title requirement.
♦️ Special Foil and Promo Cards
Players can also get reward boost based on the cards that they use. For each Gold Foil card and Promo card that a player use, it will give them 10% boost in their earnings while Black Foil gives 20%. If it is both a special foil and promo card, the bonus will adds up.
Card Type | Gold Foil | Black Foil | Promo Card | GF Promo | Bf Promo |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | |
Bonus | |||||
10% | 20% | 10% | 20% | 30% |
♦️ Win Streak
This condition is harder to achieve, but by continuously winning your battles, gives players a Win-streak bonus after they win their second battle, and the bonus can go up to 50% by winning 11 or more consecutive battles. Within my battles, you can see a slight increase in my earnings as I continuously win my battles.
Closing
And with this, I have shared the steps that a player can use to boost their battle rewards. Some may require further investment in the game, while some require a player's skills and proper use of cards. It was not necessary to follow all these steps. You just need to pick what suits you the most. overall, I hope that you learn something from this #communitychallenge post.
Thank you and see you on the next post!
