I want to hear your thoughts about my progress and next steps for building my Splinterlands collection. And honestly, I am facing dilemmas basically every day. To the idea is to simply get your input on decisions I need to make.

And for you to be able to give good advice, I am going to share my thoughts about the cards and the decision I need to make.

Today, I need to find out something for my Gold Foil account. I use this account for Tier 5 Brawls, and here specifically Wild Gold Level Fray. I don't have any set complete, not even Chaos Legion, so there's plenty of work to do.

Now, off to today's topic:

Should I rather buy 20 BCX of Albatross or 1 BCX of Grimbardun Smith?

Albatross

Albatross is a 1 Mana card that provides Tank Heal at Level 6 for Water cards. I think it can be really useful in a lot of battles, especially in low mana fights. Having Tank Heal available can be a game changer, and combined with Moxian Rebel and Meerdali Guardian, I can even bring in Tank Heal twice while still causing some damage. But I have to be careful, at Gold League levels, it is only 1 Magic damage, which is often absorbed by Void these days.

Grimbardun Smith

Grimbardun Smith used to be an absolute go-to card after its release. At max level, it is an insane card with great survivability. It got weakened over time by the release of additional Rebellion cards like Venka, but it still provides great utility. However, 1 GF card only means Level 2 Grimbardung, which has Immunity. With another GF card I would get Void and I think the card becomes usable. But I would need to buy at least 7 BCX to gain Shield as well. Meaning: I need to continue building for having the desired utility of this card and live with GBS simply sitting in my deck without being played for some time.

20 BCX of Albatross cost almost the same as 1 BCX of Grimbardun Smith, and already provide me with full utility. For Grimbardun, I need to buy more BCX to get to the desired abilities.
