Here we embark on an expedition through the heart of chaos, where melee warriors clash in the close-quarter battlegrounds of the Up Close and Personal ruleset. At the helm of this battle, we find Lilly Shieldpaw conducting the flow, orchestrating health boosts, and shrouding the battlefield in an enigmatic dance.

RULESET: Up Close and Personal
Description:

Use Thorns and Demoralize to counter melee attacks.
Units with 2 types of attacks (including melee) can be used.

The Strategy
Lilly Shieldpaw: Maestro of Health and Secrecy
In the mystical realm of Chaos Legion, Lilly Shieldpaw emerges as the legendary maestro, wielding the power to elevate the health of the entire ensemble. As the summoner, her triage ability becomes a healing melody, attending to the wounds inflicted in the melee maelstrom. Yet, it is her unique talent to veil all but the first monster that sets the stage for a controlled ballet, where every move is a strategic step in the dance of chaos.
Djinn Chwala: The Stalwart Guardian
From the reward cards of Chaos Legion, Djinn Chwala steps forth as the stalwart guardian. As the only epic rarity card in this ensemble, Djinn becomes the main tank, absorbing blows with a speed of three, four melee damage, six shield, and ten health. Thorns, enrage, and true strike abilities adorn this guardian, making it a formidable force in the close-quarter combat of Up Close and Personal.
Ever-Hungry Skull: Equalizer's Menacing Companion
The Common rarity monster, Ever-Hungry Skull, assumes a menacing role in the Up Close and Personal melee. With eleven shields and thorns, this skeletal warrior revels in the chaos, especially as the Equalizer ruleset heightens its health to unprecedented levels. A frontline menace, Ever-Hungry Skull embodies the relentless hunger for victory.
Harklaw: Demoralizing the Melee Fray
A legendary Chaos Legion rewards warrior, Harklaw, strides into the melee fray with a shield and demoralizing presence. Immune to poison and equipped with three shields, Harklaw becomes the third tank in this formidable lineup. Demoralize, a powerful ability, casts a shadow over all melee adversaries, nerfing their attacks and tilting the balance in our favor.
Disintegrator: Trampling Through Chaos
From the common ranks of Chaos Legion, Disintegrator charges into battle with a tank-like demeanor. Speeding with a base of two, three melee attack, four shields, and seven health, Disintegrator brings demoralize, retaliate, and trample abilities to the melee dance. This common rarity monster becomes a crucial piece, trampling through the chaos and retaliating against those who dare to challenge its might.
Silent Sha-vi: The Stealthy Harbinger
Hailing from the Chaos Legion Core set, Silent Sha-vi emerges as the stealthy harbinger in the melee-only symphony. With an impressive speed of six, sneak ability, and four melee damage, this common rarity monster silently chips away at the enemy backline, disrupting their formations and leaving chaos in its wake.
Cursed Windeku: The Sentry Against Sneak Attacks
To guard against the whispers of sneak attacks, Cursed Windeku takes the rear position with a robust defense. With eleven health, self-heal, and thorns abilities, this rare Chaos Legion warrior becomes the sentry, standing tall against would-be assailants and enduring the storm of chaos.
Conclusion: A Chaos-Fueled Triumph
In the heart of Up Close and Personal, Lilly Shieldpaw conducts the chaos with finesse, elevating the health, concealing the ensemble, and orchestrating a dance where each move holds strategic significance. Djinn Chwala, Ever-Hungry Skull, Harklaw, Disintegrator, Silent Sha-vi, and Cursed Windeku join this melee ballet, each playing a unique role in the symphony of chaos.
The Summoner

Lilly Shieldpaw is a legendary Chaos Legion summoner that increases health of the whole team and hides all but the first monster on the team letting you control the flow of enemy attacks. It also has triage ability that is also useful in this context.
1st Slot - Tank

Djinn Chwala is a Chaos Legion epic rarity reward card. It is a great tank particularly in the context of up close and personal ruleset where all enemy attackers are melee attackers and unless they come with reflection shield ability like Tide Biter they will receive thorns damage back. Djinn comes with base speed of three, four melee damage, six shield and ten health with thorns, enrage and true strike abilities all for only eight mana.
2nd Slot - Another Anti-Melee Tank Monster

Ever-Hungry Skull is another Chaos Legion reward card. It is a common rarity monster that is great in up close and personal ruleset because it comes with eleven shield and thorns ability. This monster is particularly strong in this battle because we also have an Equalizer ruleset in effect so the skull will get a major increase in health points from one to whatever the highest health of the monster on the field will be.
3rd Slot - Another Tank Monster

Harklaw is a legendary Chaos Legion reward set monster. It works great in this ruleset because it has a shield and demoralize abilities both of which are very useful in the situation where we have melee attackers only. It is also immune to poison and has three shield which makes this a third tank in a row. Demoralize is useful as it nerfs all melee monsters by one attack.
4th Slot - Tank and Demoralize Monster

Disintegrator is another tank like monster that comes with a base speed of two, three melee attack, four shield and seven health with all important demoralize ability as well as very useful retaliate and trample abilities. This card comes from the Chaos Legion ruleset and is a common rarity monster
5th Slot - Sneak Monster

Silent Sha-vi is a common rarity monster from the Chaos Legion Core set. It is particularly useful in the melee only ruleset due to his quick speed of six, sneak ability and for melee damage. This monster can really help to chip away at the enemy backline
6th Slot - Backline Protect Monster

I placed Cursed Windeku as the last monster in my lineup to protect against enemy sneak attack. This monster is great for that role because it has high health of eleven, self heal and thorns abilities. It can really take some beating and last for a while.
THE BATTLE
Our opponent also chose Death and is using the only neutral summoner in the game that adds health speed and shield to their team, a very good choice for thus ruleset. I don't own this summoner and it is very expensive to rent.
In the first round not much has happened, this will be a long battle unless poison helps us somewhat :)
Second and third rounds bring pretty much more of the same
In round four we lost our front tank
By the time round eight finally about to start we finally starting to see some action
And in round sixteen we finally get a clear picture of the battle outcome:
Finally in Round 19 we take a victory!
We are almost into Champion 2!
