Introduction
I had an amazing weekend. I tried this awesome steakhouse; all the food my friends and I ordered were good. I will write about it in a future post. Anyways, today I will be sharing my battle mage secrets. Last week for battle mage secrets, I shared about my strategy and tips for the Fab Four ruleset. The theme for this week is Fire & Regret. In this ruleset, ranged units will get damage reflected back onto them divided by 2. Take note that this damage is rounded up so a unit that does three damage will take back two damage.

My Strategy & Tips for Fire & Regret
In my opinion, the best tip for this ruleset is to not use a ranged unit. This can help prevent inting by not playing units that would slowly kill themselves. I would recommend playing melee and magic units so this is what to look to play around and against. If you really want to surprise your opponent and wanted to play a range unit, you would have to look at ranged units that have reflectoin shield like ash mirage, runic skyclaw, etc. These can come in handy as the opponent might not expect a ranged unit to be played. There are also a few exceptions for ranged units with no reflection shield to be played like the ones with martyr. In this case, martyr units are meant to die to buff up the surrounding units so this could be a good unit to be fodder and attract opportunity strike units.
I mainly like to play two strategies in this ruleset. Since there's a main focus of melee or magic, one of my strategies for this ruleset is to play a Kelya team with opportunity strike and sneak units with Baakjira as the tank. There's also another strategy with possibilus with Arkemis the bear and coastal sentry. To choose between these strategies depends on the mana cap. My second strategy would be to use Immortalis and that's in the case that water is not available, then I would look to focus more on countering magic. It would be a standard lineup with Mycelic Infantry infront, Mycelic Slipspawn in the back and support/damage in the middle.
The Battle
The battle link can be found here. I had this battle my scholar account, Bltzr-wizard-727. This battle was played a few hours ago. The ruleset for this battle was Unprotected, Fire & Regret and Healed out. The mana cap was 15 with water, life and dragon elements banned.
Discussing My Lineup
Summoner , Thaddius Brood - I chose Thaddius because death has good units for low mana with no armor since it's unprotected.
First Position, Pelacor Deceiver - This is a go to frontline with no armor provided Cursed Windeku is not available. In this situation, pelacor deceiver is better because it can dodge more and the cursed windeku wouldn't be able to heal with the healed out ruleset.
Second Position, Corpse Fiend - This unit was just fodder and it can also help reduce any magic damage with the silence.
Third Position, Silent Sha-vi - Silent Shavi was my carry in this lineup. It has amazing speed and damage with sneak so it can just destroy the backline. A great choice since there's no armor.
Fourth Position, Chaos Agent - I wanted a unit to counter sneak so I placed Chaos Agent in the back to hopefully dodge some attacks before opponent could get to my Silent Sha-vi.
Analysis of The Battle
I believe my opponent blundered this battle. They played a team to play around Walking Wraith because this unit can do extra damage with the armor strike. The problem is the ruleset is unprotected so there's just no armor in the battle. He not only didn't get any extra damage but all his units had low hp as well so they basically just died from one attack by my silent shavi and pelacor deceiver. If there was no unprotected, then there was a chance that I might have lost. This wasn't the case though so I'm quite satisfied with this lineup. I know it doesn't match my strategy I mentioned with Kelya or Immortalis but you have to adapt to the ruleset. Playing Immortalis wouldn't have been ideal in such a low mana battle.
