So far it seems that people like this post. I know only a few players really check it out but that is all I am hoping for. To help the players that are new to the game understand rules. I also want to give them a shot to win some DEC to buy some cards. I will still have one 500 DEC winner for someone that gives me some feedback about the game or the post. The new issue is I will be sharing the post on two chains. Hive and Steem, I am just not ready to leave out any players of the game. I will find a way to make sure that each person that comments get's a chance to win. But if you are on Hive and don't have a Steem-engine account I will have to send then DEC to you in-game. Please just let me know if you need that option in your comment. Time to go over some strategy.
Earthquake seems easy when you see the rule. Use flying monsters right. But if you think that is all to this rule then you will lose a lot. One simple counter to flying monsters is armor. So you can play a team with monsters with protection or use a summoner that gives the armor. Even 1 armor candles a round of earthquake, and 3 would counter 2. The reason this might work is that if the other team is all flyers you can use a magic line up to never miss. This move doesn't always work but if you don't have a good flying team give it a try. Combo it with guys with self-healing abilities or shield and earthquake won't kill you fast. The best option is Dragon for sure. If you have the cards they can put together a really good team for this match. This battle can show you even without legendary cards they can put a few good ones on the team. My other favorite team for this mode is Death. That might not come to mind right away but check out this line up or this one. They are good for mid-level mana matches 20 to 30. Once you get higher the dragons come into play. Lower mana is when armor really helps. I don't have one to show you but if you play enough you will see it.
Rise of the commons is a fun mode for those players without a lot of legendary cards. I use to be one of those players but keep playing and you will earn enough DEC to get some good cards. Still for this mode really you need to play a team with a tank that is strong but not EPIC or Legendary. You don't see the Dragon team very often here. If so it is just the magic team and with someone other team's cards or Selena with a lot of ranged mobs. I like to Play either Death, Earth, or sometimes Fire. Earth has Fleash golem and still has their healer. Death still has all the good rare cards on the team. The Fireteam also has some good rare tanks and healers that can still be used. Life can be used but losing the EPICs hurt them a bit. Water without the Ruler of the Sea is an issue. So I don't go there often. Here you just want to use your best team and take a look at what team the other player has been using. That is a tip I forgot but will help in modes like this and standard. The basic idea will be playing the strong tank with good firepower behind. Go for self-healing tanks if mana is under 16, Over that you want a second healer. You want the speeds on the healer and self-heal tank to be different. So that the healing hits at times it is needed. Two heals is important but only if you make sure to have enough damage to kill the other team. Here are a few matches you can check out, Death not the best example I will try to get you a better one later.
Close Range is a game mode that some ignore and others make a strong team of ranged monsters. This is because you can set up a normal team and your ranged guys just have an added boost or you can play all ranged. In general, you will still want a tank and a healer but then you can put some ranged monsters upfront knowing that they will always be able to attack. Due to the likely hood of ranged monsters using someone with headwinds is a good idea. Also using armor is a good idea. Still, sometimes you will just run int someone using mages. They are not and all a sudden that armor team of ranged guys gets blown away. In this fight we both kind of ignored it due to it being high mana. In this one I messed up my set up and my mages got killed too fast. The point showing you those is that no everyone uses this set up to do a special ranged team. For this one Life has some nice ranged cards. So does Earth. You can try a sniper team that can still attack when the hit front row. In general, though I find it best to look at the mana cap for the match and make your team based on that. As this game mode doesn't weaken any cards just makes a few stronger.
I hope all of you are doing okay during the change to Hive or Steem. Clearly it will cause the price of both coins to move a lot for a few days. I am hopeful that both live on. I do want to see what happens on each. I am sure one will start to grow while the other tapers off. But I am hoping they can both live on in away. I have two giveaways to reward. Sorry a bit late with chain issues I couldn't post it when I wanted. This post and this one
