Namaste to all fellow players of Splinterlands!
In this week's Community Engagement Challenge, I'll be taking you through an exciting new update in Splinterlands: the new Frontier format. Although it's been a few weeks since it launched and we talked about it last week, today I'll be taking you step-by-step through everything from navigating the new Frontier format to what to say in it. So stay tuned!π₯
If you are a Splinterlands player, you will remember that earlier in the play menu, on Ranked Battles, you used to get the battle modes shown in the rectangular box above (Modern, Wild, and Survival). Now with a new update in the game, a battle mode called Frontier has been added to these three modes, which is a great place for both pro and new players to test their skills and strategies. For pro players because with a brand new card set, more ways open up to improve their strategies in the changing battlefield conditions and earn daily rewards by winning battles. And for new players, because here, even without buying a spellbook, they can test their skills and strategies while enjoying free-to-play with a completely different and special foundation card set.
But to enter this mode, you have to earn the first foundation cards. Yes, and this process is the same for all pro and new players. For which you have to click on the campaign option from the play menu. Here you have to start your journey as a fledgling Battle Mage in this interactive PvE game mode through book one of Waur Medge Academy.
Here, as soon as you click on Book One, you will see the page shown above, where you will have to proceed by completing each chapter of this book. Whether against an experienced professor, an inept student, or a pesky troll, each chapter will imbue you with skill and the cards required to explore the new frontier! Only Foundations cards can be used in this format, so plan accordingly!
I found the prologue of this campaign to be amazing.π₯ Every great Battle Mage starts somewhere. Likewise, the prologue part one will start with an animated video which will give you those Cartoon Network vibesπ and take you to WAUR MEDGE ACADEMY where you will meet teachers and students just like in the fantasy world like Harry Potter, some will welcome you with a smile, some will troll you and you will become a favorite of some people right from the beginning, impressed by your skills and strategies. In fact, you should complete this book, and then you will yourself say that a film series even bigger than Harry Potter can be made on Splinterlands. Who knows, some big film-maker is already planning all this.π Anyway, while completing the chapters, one by one, you will keep unlocking the cards of the foundation card set. I have completed this whole book, after which I have a lot of foundation cards along with theseπ archons of all the elements, which will be useful to me while playing in this battle mode further.
Win battles to earn your daily cards and then use these cards to level up your Foundation Deck and gain new abilities and higher levels by combining your cards just like you normally combine and level up cards. Make sure you get your rewards every day! When the time runs out, your number of rewards will reset! In Frontier mode, only Bronze, Silver, and Gold leagues exist. Earn chests by advancing through bronze and silver leagues. Earn Foundations packs by placing on the Leaderboard or by earning daily rewards in the gold league! Foundations chests contain random rewards. Each chest has a 50% chance of containing Foundations cards and a 50% chance of containing potions.
The Foundation card set includes 53 cards designed to welcome new players and introduce them to the people, places, and dangers of Praetoria. With a mix of iconic characters and core mechanics, Foundation is the perfect place to enter Splinterlands, but experienced players will still have a lot of fun. Whether you're building your first deck like me or refining your gameplay, Foundation is where your journey begins and will really make a big difference to your strategies and gameplay.
Finally, I would say that I really liked this new battle mode and all its cards. Of course, right now I have mostly level one cards, but I am trying to level up my cards by winning more and more rewards and improving my old strategies to make them even better. Since I have already bought a spellbook here a long time ago, for me, this place is nothing less than a treasure trove of rewards, that too with challenging but exciting game play.
If you also want to enjoy this amazing game and you have not yet signed up, then I invite you to Splinterlands, and I will also try my best to guide you in this game. π
