Full Battle
Back to Basics
Back to basics: Las unidades pierden sus habilidades.

Hello everyone, for this week's Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge the theme is Teach & Triumph! which will be about the rules of combat and how to take advantage of these rules in our battles.
If you don't have any cards, it's always a good idea to rent them. I usually rent cards for the season, since I have leveled up the reward cards from the shop. I need a high-level Archon to be able to use them and have more abilities.
In GWEN’S GLINT SHOP you can get Reward Rebellion cards by spending the Glint you get when battling in ranked.
If you are starting out, it would be best to play in ranked Modern since only the last two editions are played, which would be: Rebellion and Conclave Arcana, and renting cards in Peakmonsters from the Modern format, Lvl 1 cards are more than enough to win battles in the bronze and even silver ranks.
In this case, the Archon I rented and has the highest level is Akane LV2, so I can use my higher-level cards.
I also rent, among other cards, mostly common and rare, since most epic and legendary cards require a lot of DEC to rent.
Modern Ranked
Explosive Weaponry
Explosive Weaponry: All units have the Blast ability.

When there is Blast in the rules, it is usual to go with the Archon Bella Ratajowlski in case you don't have it or it is not available, it is good to always go with cards that have the Deflect ability so that they do not receive damage from the Blast.
Also in the combat rules there is Super Sneak - Melee attacks have Sneak
and Silenced Archons - Archons that are silenced do not give buffs or debuffs.
I'm going with Akane since I'll be able to use Night Reaper and Commander Slade, both of which have Deflect, so they won't be affected by Blast. Both cards have to be at a certain level to get the Deflect ability.

Back to Basics
Back to basics: Units lose their abilities.
In this combat rule, it is usual to go for range or magic attacks and put cards with high health in the first two positions.
When this combat rule is always going to be these two cards which are:

Both cards have a low cost and a 4-attack, plus decent speed. By losing their abilities, you no longer have to worry about Incendiary or Electrified.
In this battle, apart from Back to basics there is also the combat rule Lost Magic which means that units with magic attacks cannot be used, so I have to go for range attacks in the last positions since they will be the damage.
I go with Akane and give Cavewise and Kha'zi the Ambush ability, and the opponent also goes Akane and gives Ambush to both of their cards with ranged attacks.
Having 28 mana I have to pick cards that have high health and some armor to hold up in battle while Kha'zi deals damage.
Cavewise Wayfinder, having a mana cost of 6 and having high health and armor, is suitable for the first position.
Conclave Artificer in second position has no attack but has some health and armor.
Ash Archer since he didn't have another card that had 2 range attack.
Kha'zix Conjurer obviously goes last since it will be the damage.
The opponent spent a lot of mana on his last cards: it costs 14 mana, he lacked armored units.
Note:
Blazebeard Merc would also be a good option as long as the combat rule: Lost magic is in effect.
Full Battle
Frontier Ranked:
Up close & Personal : Only melee attack units can be used.
In this combat rule there are few cards that can be used, and it also depends on the elements we have. In this case, when there is this combat rule, I go with the Archon Incessant Sage since it grants +1 armor to our units, which makes it perfect against melee attacks.
In this case the opponent goes with Barthalamas which grants +1 speed, which will attack first and defeat some cards in the first rounds but having extra armor can win.
Full Battle
In this battle the same rule but here the opponent increases the magic attack for the Great Bear Druid unit which can be annoying since he doesn't care about the armor but in the end he ends up being defeated.
Full Battle
Equal Opportunity
Equal Opportunity: All units are granted the Opportunity ability.
In abilities like Opportunity, it's common to use cards with a life equal to the card you want to protect, since that will be the damage.
Speed is also usually quite important in this combat rule since attacking first can give you a huge advantage, which is why you look for cards with Swiftness or Slow.
In this battle apart from Opportunity also the units do not have any abilities due to the combat rule.
Since my damage will be Kicking Roc I will put cards that have equal or lower life to protect this card.
As we see there are 3 cards that have the health of 5 the same as Kicking Roc which has to defeat these 3 cards before attacking Kicking Roc.
The opponent manages to defeat 3 of my cards but I still end up winning the battle.
Full Battle
In this battle, also with Opportunity, but with Barthalamas, which increases speed by +1, we both used this Archon.
Unlike my opponent, what made me win was by using Vengeful Monk instead of Frankarsgard.

It's simple since Frankarsgard has such high health he won't be attacked until the end unless you put him in first position and take damage so his health will be reduced.

Final Notes
It's always important to review the combat rules before starting a battle, as some rules greatly affect both your units and your opponent's during battle.
It's also important to consider Speed in battles. Speed also affects battles, as having a high Speed makes it more likely you'll win battles.
