Prelude
Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's challenge is a review on 2024, recalling most best battles and what goals I would like for myself in 2025 in my Splinterlands Journey. What a great year it has been for 2024 and I am certainly looking forward another great year in 2025. So let's get right on with how 2024 went.
My Splinterlands Journey in 2024
What an amazing year for Splinterlands 2024 had been. Many changes, many initiatives but all for the good of the game and its longevity. One major change that we saw is the release of Glint as another token within the game and also having a Glint shop for us to spend the accumulated Glint tokens. The initial soulbound reward cards from the Chaos Legion series was awesome and the newly release Rebellion series were up to challenge and gave us so many choices and dimensions in the game play be it ranked or brawl.

But as of now I have almost doubled that amount:
Not too bad in terms of gaining SPS, but definitely I believe I will be able to accumulate more SPS as I continue to grow the stakes. The more I can get SPS staked, the more Glint I can accumulate with each win and obtain even more soulbound reward cards. These cards are really good and we should try our best to obtain more copies of them and get them levelled up to improve our winning rates with the levelled up cards.
Like what I shared in earlier weeks, there is ambassador program to encourage onboarding of new players which we really need in the game to let the market move. Not only do we have this ambassador program up, the free to play experience for new players whom may be skeptical on whether or not they wanna play. The experience will help new players to judge and assess whether or not, this is what they want with no obligation. So many positives to moving the game in the right direction to set us up for a good 2025 to look forward to.
Many amazing campaigns/events also happened in the year such as the promo cards to commemorate the halving of bitcoin and various launches other nice promo cards that can put use to vouchers and even auctions.
Favourite/Memorable Battle of The Year
There are just too many of them to pick from. So many heart racing, tide turning, overwhelming battles happened throughout the year. Many of those were covered in my Social Media challenges and also brawl reports.
So I will pick one battle that happened rather recently which I managed to overpower my opponent especially with the aid of a Rebellion soulbound reward card that has been featuring more and more in my water splinter lineup.

This is a match whereby there is blast and also counter fire. Both me and my opponent deployed double martyr combo to our lineup with my opponent being more intentional especially when he wanted to boost 2 cards, Helheim Demon and Kain Hace. And the best thing about Kain Hace is that it has reflection shield to not get the blast from incoming damages. Opponent really had a good plan not just with the double martyr but also with the corrupted healing for Arachne Weaver which is really a pain to deal with.
But I had line up my own team up for this challenge. Double martyr to boost up the ever dangerous Oshannus at high stats and using a high risk/reward setup with Shock Trooper to deliver punishment hard onto my opponent. Shock Trooper is an amazing epic card that I've gotten from Rebellion soulbound reward series and proof to be a very viable card addition to my collection.
This is a match to showcase how scary a double martyr lineup can be and how a big magic blast can swiftly tear down opponent tank with ease. In Rebellion soulbound reward card series, some of the epic cards do force us to make tough decisions into whether or not using them due to their high risk high reward nature such as the electrified ability in Shock Trooper whom could easily accelerated my own losing instead of advantage. Opponent also used Arachne Weaver whose corrupted healing also does the same where healing do occur but at the cost of reducing 1 max health of the card. Match is really memorable as it was so fast paced and overwhelmed my opponent with high damage output even when they had healing, reflection shield and taunt enabled to build a cyclic defence. And if you are not accumulating Glint to build up your soulbound reward card collection, better start doing so before they vanish. I did not collect enough during the Chaos Legion series and I utterly disappointed with myself, so I would want collect as much as I can for the Rebellion series.
Goals for 2025
Main focus will be to continue building up my card collection but instead of focusing on Chaos Legion which will rotate out into Wild, there needs to be continuous building up of Rebellion cards so that I can still be relevant in the gameplay else I will need to pay for wild pass in order to play in wild instead of modern format.
While building up collection from Rebellion main set, soul bound reward cards should be obtained as much as possible from the Rebellion series to continue staying viable. Having both ready will allow me to embrace the new meta easier and also be more ready with a bigger collection of cards.
The next thing that needs to be built definitely will be the staked SPS portion. To build soul bound and other form of items from the Glint shop, more staked SPS is needed to earn more Glint from battles.
I am also looking forward to the new set so as to refresh my strategies, combos and also gameplay to adopt to maybe new abilities and rulesets. Rebellion had already wow-ed me with a big change where we can apply battle tactics after lineup selection.
In general for 2025, build up assets, build up collection, stay relevant in modern and enjoy the new things that come my way.

What a year we had in 2024 with so many new initiatives to build up the game and attract new players. I am hoping with all these, more players will join us in 2025 and embrace new cards, gameplay and growing together in the community.
