[Splinterlands] SARIUS

Greetings dear Hive.blog community, the post I share with you today, is another entry to the @Splinterlands contest, this time I chose a female character, it was about time haha, because the previous deliveries went from animals to zombies, not to lose the habit of drawing girls, I decided to make a warrior, and from the large repertoire of cards that are there I chose the character called "SARIUS".

According to the lore Sarius is the most feared surviving general of the Khmer people. In single combat, Sarius wears a magnificent suit of traditional Khmer armor and fights with two matching broad-bladed short swords. With his exotic melee fighting styles, he is a tough opponent to beat.

Below I show you the step by step development of the illustration, I hope you like it.

Saludos querida comunidad de Hive.blog, el post que les comparto el día de hoy, se trata de otra entrada al concurso de @Splinterlands, en esta ocasión elegí a un personaje femenino, ya era hora jaja, debido a que las anteriores entregas pasaron a ser desde animales hasta zombis, para no perder la costumbre de dibujar chicas, decidí realizar a una guerrera, y del gran repertorio de cartas que hay elegí al personaje llamado “SARIUS”.

Según el lore Sarius es el general superviviente más temido del pueblo jemer. En el combate individual, Sarius lleva un magnífico traje de armadura tradicional jemer y lucha con dos espadas cortas de hoja ancha a juego. Con sus exóticos estilos de combate cuerpo a cuerpo, es un rival difícil de vencer.

Drawing development / Desarrollo ✏️

Taking as reference the photo that was presented, I made a semi-realistic adaptation of the "SARIUS", keeping certain animated and fantasy details that characterizes the original character, for the development and ease of it, I divided it into several sections, such as body, hair, armor and background, each painted separately to be able to apply more comfortably the different effects and textures.

Tomando como referencia la foto que se presentó, realice una adaptación semirealista de la “SARIUS”, manteniendo ciertos detalles animados y fantasiosos que caracteriza al personaje original, para el desarrollo y facilidad del mismo, lo dividí en varias secciones, como fueron cuerpo, cabello, armadura y fondo, cada una pintadas por separado para poder aplicarle con mayor comodidad los diferentes efectos y texturas.

First start the drawing by making the sketch, use the image of the original character as a reference, changing the pose style it had, giving it an attack look. Then opaque the layers of the sketch and apply the base color to the SARIUS.

Primero inicie el dibujo realizando el boceto, use como referencia la imagen del personaje original, cambiando el estilo de pose que tenía, dándole un aspecto de ataque a la misma. Seguidamente opaque las capas del boceto y aplique el color base a la SARIUS.

I started to give some tonalities and volume to the character, using for this purpose the rough brush, with the intention of obtaining some texture in the painting. I detailed a little the parts of the armor, applying shadows, shines and textures.

Empecé a darle un poco de tonalidades y volumen al personaje, usando para este fin el pincel áspero, con la intención de obtener cierta textura en el pintado. Detalle un poco las partes de la armadura, aplicándole sombras, brillos y texturas.

In this step continue detailing the armor, besides making the section of the skirt and the swords. Using the same technique of drawing each part separately, placing shadows, lights and textures.

En este paso continúe detallando la armadura, además de realizar la sección de la falda y las espadas. Usando la misma técnica, de dibujar cada parte por separado, colocándole sombras, luces y texturas.

As a final step, I finished refining the features of the face by drawing the eyes, nose and mouth, then I joined all the layers of the character to apply the effects of lights and glows. For the background I made it using different layers, simulating mountains and blurring them little by little to give an effect of depth to the composition.

Como paso final, termine de refinar las facciones del rostro dibujando los ojos, nariz y boca, luego uní todas las capas del personaje para aplicarle los efectos de luces y brillos. Para el fondo este lo realice usando diferentes capas, simulando montañas y difuminándolas poco a poco para dar un efecto de profundidad a la composición.
