Hi Everyone! It's been a long time since I did a Splinterlands Fan Art.
For the past months I've been trying to create an animated Splinterlands card because its COOL! I don't know how to animate so it took me a while to create one. I have been studying how to use Krita because I searched the internet and people say it is easier to use Krita for this instance. Also, painting in Photoshop specially like this one is super laggy on my laptop.
For my first animated art and first art that I created in Krita I decided to draw Fire Elemental. I'll share with you guys my experience in my first animation.
I hope you guys like it!
I always knew animating is hard but I thought I could finish this one in just a week (LOL). Its just the Fire Elemental on 7 frames. I've seen Youtube tutorials animating fire wtih more than 7 frames and it looks easy. I never thought it would take me more than two weeks to finish 7 frames.
I always start my drawing with a simple sketch. I was thinking of a pose like it was preparing for an attack. But I just couldn't squish it to just 7 frames. So I decided to go with the basic pose.
To draw the succeeding frames I turned on the onion skin feature in Krita so I could see where I left at on my previous sketch. After the sketch I draw the outline.
I know it looks super chaotic. But it will end here. After I draw the outline I divided the the whole art work in to several parts. Head fire, face, body, front fire and back fire. This is just to make is easier for me to color it part by part in the entire 7 frames.
HEAD FIRE
FACE
BODY
BACK FIRE
FRONT FIRE
Here is what it looks like for all the frames.
All that is left is the background and the card. For the background I just chose a dark color red and had small orange and yellow circle to have a firey feel in the background.
I can't upload a mp4 file so I made it a GIF.
It is not the smoothest but I hope everyone like it.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
