Hello! Welcome to my blog/entry to Splinterlands weekly art contest.
I got myself very interested to the lore of Merdaali Guardian and what is a Merdaali Guardian. If you haven't read it yet I'll paste it here just in case.
"The Merdaali Guardians are a noble group committed to protecting all sea life and do not pay much attention to the affairs of people and the land. They are graceful to behold, often adorning themselves with shining jewelry. They prefer pacifism to conflict and are adept at healing and helping others through their connection to magic. However, when the Chaos Legion came to the Splinterlands, they swore to use their magic to protect what they hold most dear.
Alone, the Silver Shield Knight would have fallen to the Chaos Legion. He stood on the deck of the ship, surrounded. His armor was battered. His skin was bruised and bloodied. His arm were weary with the weight of his sword, and each swing and parry was a test of his will.
But then the Merdaali Guardian surfaced in the ocean beside the ship, resplendent in her bangle bracelets, earrings, and jeweled necklace. Her wet, red hair clung to her face as she muttered the incantations of her spells.
Upon the deck, the cuts and gashes in the Silver Shield Knight's skin closed. The dents and cracks in his armor were repaired.
Bolstered with new life, he shouted, “For Khymeria!” and whirled his sword at his attackers. The Chaos Legion fell back beneath his onslaught.
Together, the Silver Shield Knight and the Merdaali Guardian fought on as the rest of the armada burned around them."(splinterlands.com)
The lore is almost like what is happening right now in Ukraine. There are many soldiers that are trying hard to hold their ground from an enemy that is a lot stronger in military force. Many civilians becoming victims of war. It saddens me and frightens me thinking it can also happen to my country.
In this art I tried to capture Merdaali Guardian that wanted to help but is hesitating because of the tradition that they are not to interfere with human affair. I also put glimpse of lighting from above that signifies it will eventually decide to help and protect what is important to them.
