Acomodando el closet, para sacar la ropa e indumentarias para el invierno, encontré este juego que le regalaron a mi hijo mayor cuando recién llegamos a Argentina. Es un juego de concentración y estrategias que jugamos algunas veces mientras estaba pequeño.
Con el pasar del tiempo y las mudanzas, había quedado relegado a una de las maletas dentro del closet, por lo que en esta oportunidad le pregunté a mi hijo menor si quería que lo jugáramos, y por supuesto le encantó la idea.
En Battleship, debemos colocar las embarcaciones en el tablero sin que el oponente lo sepa, pues el juego se trata de descubrir a donde están ubicados tus barcos, para bombardearlos por completo hasta "hundirlos".
Tiene una serie de pines de color blanco y naranja que se van insertando en los orificios. En la pantalla que queda arriba se van colocando las bombas que lanzas al enemigo y en la de abajo, las que recibes, teniendo una señalización con números y letras que vas diciendo al oponente para que también haga sus marcas y poder planificar sus siguientes movimientos.
Los pines blancos representan las bombas fallidas, y los naranjas las que lograron darle a las naves. Cada vez que logras anotar con los naranjas debes preguntar si ya se hundió toda la embarcación, ya que son de distintos tamaños.
Al principio pudiera parecer lento y fastidioso, pero al ser un juego de estrategias, debes estar atento a las reacciones del oponente, aunque en este caso, yo era quien ponía la cara de poker, mientras mi hijo se emocionaba o desencantaba visiblemente, dependiendo del resultado de su movida.
El primero en dar con una embarcación fue él, quien se jactaba de ir ganando, mucho más cuando logró tener una segunda victoria. Pero como ganar una batalla no implica el fin de la guerra, logré remontar y avanzar con 3 embarcaciones hundidas.
Fue entonces cuando se puso serio, viendo su tablero para determinar con detalles sus jugadas, pensando con rapidez cada movimiento y el ritmo del juego se aceleró. Fue entonces cuando yo dejé mi cara de poker y terminé haciendo morisquetas, aunque igual seguía concentrada en ganar.
Duramos casi una hora en la batalla, terminando yo con 4 embarcaciones hundidas, una intacta y él con las 5 en el fondo del mar. En este caso también pidió la revancha, pero ya era la hora de hacer la cena, por lo que quedó pendiente para el fin de semana.

At first it might seem slow and annoying, but being a game of strategy, you have to be attentive to your opponent's reactions, although in this case, I was the one making the poker face, while my son was visibly excited or disenchanted, depending on the outcome of his move.
The first one to hit a boat was him, who boasted about winning, even more so when he managed to have a second victory. But since winning a battle does not mean the end of the war, I managed to rebound and advance with 3 sunken vessels.
It was then that he became serious, looking at his board to determine in detail his moves, thinking quickly about each move and the pace of the game quickened. It was then that I dropped my poker face and ended up pouting, although I was still focused on winning.
We lasted almost an hour in the battle, ending up with me with 4 sunken boats, one intact, and him with all 5 at the bottom of the sea. In this case he also asked for a rematch, but it was time to make dinner, so it was pending for the weekend.
