Pumpkin and Freddie Photos for Caturday

 
 

I've mentioned once or twice recently that my camera has been gathering dust for months now. Instead of going outside on a daily basis and taking a bazillion photos (most of which never see the light of day...lol), I only take it out briefly here and there. I checked, and since November 2022 I have 60 pictures on my SD card - I used to do twice that each day! And they're nothing really exciting - they're of our dog and cats, random things outside the window ("hey, what kind of bird is that... oh, it's a squirrel"), the oil level in our home furnace (long story for another day) with a few birthday shots in for good measure (hubby and both our girls have had birthdays in the past five months).

Share 5 feline photos for Caturday

... I thought it would be a good excuse to take some nice new photos of them for today. And here I am, at 9pm, realizing today is almost over!

To be fair, I've been out of the house for a fair part of the day doing errands, and the rest of the day has been mostly getting ready for our small family Easter celebration tomorrow - where's my time turner when I need it?

 

 

As luck would have it though, I found over a dozen shots of our cats Pumpkin and Freddie taken in February, so I picked out the best of the lot (eight total), did a quick cleanup job of them on LunaPic (one of these days I'm going to figure out how to use GIMP but for now, LunaPic works for me), and here they are!

From the post thumbnail, I bet you'd think this was Freddie, right? But you'd be wrong - this is Pumpkin, so named by my mother for the faint bits of orange on his head and the back of his hind legs. Because even though he is a white cat, he has pumpkin patches.

We've had Freddie since November 2019, and adopted Pumpkin from my mother back in June 2021. They warmed up to each other quicker than expected, and now they're fast friends.

 
 

They even mirror each other when hanging out on our bed together.

 
 

They're practically twins! 😂

 
 

This has always been Freddie's preferred way to sleep - as @fionasfavourites says, "wheels up."

 
 

About a year after he arrived, Pumpkin started doing it too.

 
 

Don't they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? If so, Freddie must be very flattered. 😁
