Reconciling with my contest winners for Reconciliation Day

 
 

Two days in a row with new posts, and I've even using the prompts - this Hive Blog Posting month just started and I'm already on a roll! 😂

One of the things I promised myself that I'd get to for #HiveBloPoMo (even if I end up not officially crossing the finish line) was to address something that's been bugging me for a long time. 9 months, to be exact, which now that I think about it, is kinda funny timing, since it's a birthday thing. At any rate, back at the end of July 2022, I had a guessing game to celebrate my birthday and had lots of awesome entries to the contest.

I was so overwhelmed (in a very good way) by the response, that I decided to take a few days to figure out the prize awards, since 3 prizes didn't seem enough.

Then (as this is apparently my superpower), it fell out of my brain.

 

 

Every time it popped back in, I'd tell myself that I'd check it out next time I was at my keyboard. But, needless to say...

 

 

Since today's daily prompt for Hive Blog Posting Month is...

For Reconciliation Day, write about a relationship you wish to mend

...I thought it would be the perfect day to make amends (aka FINALLY pick the winners and award the prizes...lol).

 

First up, a reminder of what was required...

Birthday Guessing Game Rules

• Drop a comment and guess how old I am as of today
• Tell me your favorite birthday memory

And what I said about the prizes back then...

I'm assuming more than one person will guess correctly, so I'm putting up 3 prizes of 5 HIVE each. If there are more than 3 correct guesses before this post pays out, I'll determine the winners in a random drawing.

I then decided to add more prizes to the pool, and award them thusly...

Group A - 6 prizes of 5 Hive = 30

Group B - 5 prizes of 5 Hive = 25

Group C - 2 prizes of 1 Hive = 2

 

And yes, that means that the total prize amount is 57 Hive. Seemed rather fitting. 😊

Next, all I had to do was put the names from each group into the Random Results Generator.
