Day three in Vegas got off to another early start.

I don’t know what is wrong with my circadian rhythm, but no matter what time I fall asleep I inevitability wake up somewhere in the 5’s. After showering, getting dressed, and a quick repack of my bag it was time to head out for the day.

Early mornings in Las Vegas are funny. The tourists mostly aren’t awake. It doesn’t have a normal business district so there aren’t office workers out and about. It is just a few early risers like me and people awake from the night before still stumbling around in nightclub attire.

This morning was particularly cold. It was sunny, but the wind had a bite to it! I took some photos of the lower strip and had a little wander in the New York New York casino. Then walked up the road to find breakfast with @silverd510 and @summertooth.

After the guys got moving, the three of us ended up at the Planet Hollywood Casino. Along with the hotel/casino, the property also has a substantial shopping mall. Summer and Silverd grabbed lobster rolls for breakfast. I am not a seafood eater, so used that time to circle back to an art gallery we had passed in the mall.

Having skipped lobster roll breakfast, at this point I was starving. So when @fat-elvis messaged to say he was getting a burger at Shake Shack, I high tailed it back down to the NY NY to meet him for a smash burger.

It. Was. So. Yummy. 🍔

After “burger breakfast” it was time to go back to the coin show.

Day 2 was an equal success to day 1. Maybe more fun though, because today everyone was there together to shop. @thedamus was giddy. Fat E and I got silly looking for anything unique. I picked up ANOTHER 5oz bringing my purchase total to 10.

Day 2 - Purchase 1: 2017 Niue Bounty

Day 2 - Purchase 2: Dopey

^{This Dopey round was released in 1987 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Snow White Disney cartoon release. The round is 1oz, .999 fine and was originally part of an 11 pieces series. One vendor was selling the whole set. Two vendors has various dwarves for sale including Dopey, Happy and Doc. I really wanted the Grumpy, but Dopey was the coolest of what was available. Plus, I was able to get the price of the Dopey down to the Happy and Doc level (they were cheaper), so that felt like a win. This piece is #6299/15,000.}

On a Disney side note, one vendor was selling graded “Disney dollars”. Disney dollars have been released with various designs over the years and are basically currency you can use in the Disney parks. Each bill can be exchanged 1:1 for USD. The exciting thing is, I have 2 Disney dollars at home that look brand new. Got em in maybe 1987. Well, graded versions of these were selling for $100 each at the coin show! So maybe it is time to get my Disney dollars graded. 🤔

Day 2 - Purchases 3, 4 and 5 ART BARS!

I got these next three silver pieces from the same vendor. Each is so unique. All three are from the 1970’s (the glory days of art bars).

Off to Paris 🇫🇷

After the coin show, it was time to regroup and bundle up for a night on the town. @summertooth made reservations for diner at a restaurant called Mon Ami Gabi. This is a place in Vegas I had always wanted to visit! It is right in the Paris Hotel/Casino across the street from the Bellagio fountain show.

For starters we order warm baguettes with sweet cream butter and carrots amuse bouche. Three of us also ordered the Caesar salad. It was big and tasty! My main was the filet mignon au poivre (brandy peppercorn sauce) washed down with two glasses of Bordeaux. For dessert I had a coffee and chocolate mousse. Others order hanger steak, skate, trout and creme brûlée.

The rest of the night is kind of a blur… there were lemon drops. There were gambling wins and losses. We all walked down to the MGM where the fellows dropped me off sometime close to 1am. I shared final farewells (for now) with most of the crew at the elevator bank that night.

I was up at the crack of dawn again Sunday morning. Summertooth had offered a ride to the airport. So once my suitcase was packed, I checked out of my hotel and lyfted up to Summer and Silverd’s hotel.

One of my favorite parts of the whole trip were the quiet hangouts at their place. You generally don’t get to spend so much quality time with online friends. Having that time in person was really cool. It kind of felt like being in high school or college and hanging out with your friends after class. 🙂

I was bummed I forgot to take a last photo with them at the airport. They were probably thrilled I forgot to take a last photo with them at the airport! 🤣😂🤣😂 We will definitely do this again.
