Hi Stackers,
Some two years ago divers of the coast of Denia//Javea (Spain Costa Blanca) found a small gold treasure and since we have a house nearby it was time to see if any gold was left for me and the wife!
The snorkle spot is reached via a 30 minute walk partly with steps (see pic) but also some tricky terrain afterwards including a descent with a chain as help. Being only 61 this was piece of cake for me! (not)
The path entry requires pre-booking (online) during peak season. Only 200 persons a day I believe including the kayak people (see further); max 1 hr stay;
(me climbing down)
The snorkle spot is near a large cave and really beautifull but no sand or chairs to sit on ofcourse just rocks. The easier expensive way is to join a kayak tour for 60 EUR and visit te cave this way peddling from Denia along the scenic coast.
My wife went in first and immediately got stung by a jellyfish. I did not take much notice of her as we had this more often elsewhere and these were jsut painfull little stings. Afterwards my wife explained it was a 6 inch jelliefish wrapped all around her ellbow. The 2 inch purple stripes on her ellbow only disappeared after a month or so.
We snorkled for almost an hour and did see schools of little fish and some pretty coloured larger ones and we loved doing this again after some years. Once you go down you enter another world!
As for the gold we did not find anything ofcourse. Too crowdy there!
Instead we ate our sandwiches and headed back to the exit. A trip while worth it !
See you
