I admit, she's got stronger will than I do.

The last few days have been impossible for me to get my thoughts around a proper post drawn up.
Just before the New year, we thought we a decent pause on her Cancer following the first round of Chemotherapy and the immediate scans showed progress.
What was considered an old bothersome skin blemish found on my roommates back was removed three weeks ago turned out as cancerous. A subdural form that rarely occurs with the same type of Sarcoma she was originally diagnosed with.
We took the most available diagnostics booking for a quick follow up CT scan on Wednesday and by Friday her doctor revealed the bad news. Not only that the cyst was cancerous but also new problem sites showing a further spread of the disease than we thought.

Now we’re at the stage we’re Chemotherapy wouldn’t gain any ground on her disease leaving to Immunotherapy therapy as our next choice.
What is Immunotherapy?
A treatment that enable’s the patient’s own immune system to identify and destroy cancer cells. For my Roommate’s situation a 2-pronged approach is recommended, an Intravenous version applied every few weeks and an oral dosage of a companion medication each having a reasonable having a workable track record but relatively new in this combination together.
I could best describe as in the Experimental stage. Trials have shown a 40% success rate. Better than nothing.
There are trade offs as expected, the medical side effects take a toll on the Thyroid, Liver, and kidney. Therefore, a possibly significant reduction in the quality of life.
Tomorrow morning, our battle will resume with an immune system assessment.

We just had some of her relatives drop in for her birthday yesterday, it was great that they threw in their loving support over a nice roast beef dinner, an awesome bottle of wine and of course a chocolate cake that she really shouldn’t be having but indulged in a slice anyway.
Here’s hoping for another birthday party next year.🥂
And your prayers would be coveted.
